While strengthening current customer experiences, Ed is spearheading Mastercard’s efforts to proactively mitigate the future risks related to quantum computing that could impact the security of the billions of digital transactions we process daily around the globe. In anticipation of such developing security threats, Ed and the Technology team are testing solutions in Quantum Key Distribution to securely distribute encryption keys in different locations at the same time.
Ed has also led Mastercard's upgrade of its global payment network to embrace a blend of cloud and edge computing technologies. The new modernized network, when available, will allow new customer experiences, drive revenue growth through faster product delivery and integration and improve operational efficiency by onboarding new customers quicker.
Technology helps us innovate and it is core to what we bring to our customers across payments, services and new networks. Ed’s team supports developing all sorts of products and solutions including Mastercard Access. Mastercard Access is a suite of solutions providing ease of access for all payment network connectivity and value-added services needs, and Ed’s team leveraged Mastercard’s secure technology to a non-traditional customer segment. Through this new service, Mastercard is now touching more transactions than ever before and helping protect the entire payment ecosystem, bringing security and peace of mind along with a seamless transaction experience.
