Nomination Title: Give + Share

Thank you for taking the time to review our submission and for supporting entrepreneurs, we have selected to write our responses below. Give + Share is under Limage Media Group's Not For Profit Arm.

Give + Share acts as a central nervous system for real-time community coordinated humanitarian response while managing community resources such as food, shelter, access to justice, humanitarian governance support, tools, training and more. When there is a humanitarian disaster the “cluster approach” is the best practice for international humanitarian aid and architecture. The founder has spent over a decade producing humanitarian-based programs and consulting within this space in Haiti post-2010 earthquake. While mitigating risks surrounding urban food security we continually observe and listen to stakeholders and have found that there is a lack of humanitarian infrastructure within the urban context here in Vancouver as well as other Canadian municipalities. Give + Share is not only timely, it is necessary to implement and scale to build back better and have healthy resilient cities. We are in the process of unifying pre-existing resources to streamline outdated discombobulated processes in order to ensure that the most vulnerable have access to valuable resources. We use technology and innovation to shape and progress the delivery model of humanitarian action—saving lives, alleviating human suffering, and mitigating the economic and social impact of disasters such as (COVID -19).

The outcome to date has been poverty reduction, trade & partnership opportunities, increased food security and stability, improved mental and physical health and the creation of 6 other modules within " Give + Share such as the shelter module which addresses and resolves immediate challenges for the homeless and precariously housed individuals. We have developed a way for shelters and organizations to streamline their workflow processes while communicating with external agencies and stakeholders to better support their beneficiaries and frontline workers. The process happens through Give + Shares technology which allows users to check the status of shelter beds that are available in the area while providing valuable real-time data. http://www.give-share.com/

i.e. Homeless Shelter location A has 12 beds available when Homeless Shelter location B has no beds available but the two have no way to communicate with one another, Give + Share bridges the gap by integrating updates in real-time through our technology. We recognize the links between independent humanitarian action and broader aid policies. Give + Share’s technology can be implemented by NGOs, NPO's and Governments to support humanitarian architecture within an urban context and delivery model. The principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence are fundamental to humanitarian action. Humanity means that human suffering must be addressed wherever it is found, with particular attention to the most vulnerable. Leveraging Give + Shares technology supports the basic principles of humanitarian action while providing a stable base and central governance system which in turn creates more social impact.

We have been very fortunate to not only have a municipal partner but to have won several awards for supporting food security infrastructure through technology and media. Through collaboration, we have mitigated risks in an emergency and have over 200 thousand organic users as of today. We also have created the technology to be accessible for those who are visually impaired or not financially able to obtain the licenced version as we have a free “Guest” version for anyone to access regardless of their budget and also a paid SaaS solution as well as a licence for “Agencies'' on our mobile app which offers more features, both are compatible with Mac, PC, iOS & Android devices. We plan to deploy our governance and technology nationally post ALPHA and BETA tests for specific modules with an emphasis on our food and shelter modules as they solve problems immediately. In order to achieve humanitarian principles organizations and governments need to have the infrastructure in place to ensure that the most vulnerable have access to the resources they need. Give + Share provides the governance and infrastructure required in order to support those who need it most while helping the economy to recover i.e. when the most vulnerable have Maslow's hierarchy of needs met they can become contributors to the betterment of society and economic recovery. There is nothing like Give + Share in the world which is why it was and is so important to continue to deploy.
