To mark the golden jubilee of the establishment of the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA), the HA has published a commemorative book that features photos depicting the evolution and milestones of public housing development, interviews giving glimpses into life in public housing estates in the past, and experience sharing on housing construction and visions for the future.
The objectives of the publication are to showcase the evolution of public housing in Hong Kong and to highlight the HA's “committed” value in serving the community in the past 50 years. A precious selection of archival images underscoring the humanistic features of public housing over the generations, juxtaposed with photos on housing projects built with the latest technologies in recent years, is presented. Key players with significant contributions to public housing development and celebrities who have grown up in public housing estates give interviews to share their affections, reminiscences and expectations about public housing.
