In 2023, Home Credit Philippines (HCPH) marked its 10th year as the leading consumer finance company, with operations in 74 provinces and over 14,000 employees. As HCPH’s 10th anniversary approached, a pivotal question arose: How could we celebrate inclusively, given our geographically dispersed team? Historically, company celebrations centered in Metro Manila had left our field and regional teams (about 70% of our workforce) feeling disengaged. This disconnect prompted a shift towards more inclusive celebrations.
IMPLEMENTATION
In keeping with our focus on DEI and Innovation, as recognized by Asia Stevie awards in 2022-2023:
1. SarangHC! The Home Credit 10th-Year Kick-off Party (January 2023):
- Named with a playful nod to the Korean word "saranghae," meaning "I love you," SarangHC symbolized the company's gratitude for its team
- The first major post-pandemic company event featuring:
- Employee-led performances, a dance contest, and a dance video by our executive leaders
- Live music by our HCPH Music Club, DJ’d by our Collections Head
- A surprise performance by then-celebrity endorser Moira dela Torre
- Field and regional office teams were given budgets to hold their own parties
- The event was also marked by a generous raffle, distributing over Php 1,000,000 in cash and various gadgets to employees across the nation
2. 10th Year Nationwide Celebration (October 2023):
- A SharePoint microsite was created, serving as a central hub for relevant information, making it easy for every employee to feel connected and involved in the festivities
- This first-of-its-kind, nationwide celebration featured:
- 35 regional celebrations, bringing the excitement to every corner of the country
- An exclusive 2-day at Enchanted Kingdom (the country’s premier theme park) for NCR-based employees and their loved ones
- Thoughtful transportation arrangements, including a choice between transport allowance or free bus service for NCR employees, and a transportation budget for regional offices, ensuring seamless travel for over 5,000 employees and their guests
- Employee volunteers were granted an extra day of Wellness Leave
- These 36 events unfolded almost simultaneously across the country, uniting our nationwide teams in a shared experience
- All full-time employees were also gifted with 1-year “Home Content Protect”, covering up to Php50,000 for home content damages or losses
IMPACT
- Inclusivity: 12,068 employees celebrated together, bringing their loved ones, which puts total participants to ~20,000
- Participation: The attendance and transportation utilization rates both stood at an impressive 98%, indicating meticulous planning and high enthusiasm among employees
- Employee Satisfaction: Exceptionally high at 4.78 out of 5
- Social Media Impact: The celebrations had a significant digital footprint:
- 30,000+ organic public posts from employees and guests, showcasing widespread excitement and engagement
- Related content achieved a remarkable 344,000 organic reach and 8.44% engagement rate, surpassing the industry average of 1.02% and bringing in >2,100 new followers to HCPH’s employer brand Facebook page
- Attrition: Down to 2.5-3% attrition per month since the 10th year celebrations vs industry benchmark of 15%
These 10th-anniversary celebrations, with glowing feedback and high engagement, united ~20,000 employees and their loved ones nationwide in a shared, memorable experience.
