Welcome to the February issue of The Stevie Awards newsletter. "Which business leader has inspired you the most?" is February's Stevie Awards survey question. See below for the results of the January survey.
| ABA Entry Deadline Extended to February 27
Because of the large number of requests for deadline extensions received by the Stevie Awards office, the entry deadline for The 2004 American Business Awards has been extended to Friday, February 27. Updated nomination forms are available for download at the ABA web site at www.stevieawards.com/aba.
To date the ABAs have received almost twice the number of entries that were received at the similar point last year, so the organizers have been able to begin the preliminary round of judging on schedule.
All business professionals in the U.S. are invited to apply to become a preliminary-round judge in The 2004 American Business Awards. Judging in most categories is done over the Internet, and judges will be able to score as many nominations as they'd like, at their convenience, during February-March.
"Absolutely the best way to understand what's going on in business is to be a judge in The American Business Awards," said Michael Berman, a partner in CPathSolutions, a New York-based consulting company and a 2003 judge. To apply to be a judge, see the "You Be The Judge" section of the ABA homepage

Which Business Leader Has Inspired You the Most?
That's the Stevie Awards survey question for February. Follow the link below to respond.
Here are the results of the January survey, which asked, "How many business awards have you won in your career?"
More than 5 awards: 37.1% 5 awards: 1.6% 4 awards: 8.1% 3 awards: 12.9% 2 awards: 12.9% 1 award: 9.7% No awards: 17.7%
While a surprising 37.1% of respondents said they have won more than 5 awards in their careers, 40.3% said they have won two or fewer awards, indicating that historically there have been haves and have-nots in the awarding of business recognition.
