Since 1993, EPAM Systems, Inc. has leveraged its advanced software engineering heritage to become the foremost global digital transformation services provider, leading the industry in digital and physical product development and digital platform engineering services. Through its innovative strategy; integrated advisory, consulting, and design capabilities; and unique ‘Engineering DNA,’ EPAM’s globally deployed hybrid teams help make the future real for clients and communities around the world by powering better enterprise, education and health platforms that connect people, optimize experiences, and improve people’s lives.

EPAM began our ESG program almost 7 years ago as part of our company mission to advocate for our employees and the world at large. Growing quickly, COVID-19 and then the war in Ukraine tested our resolve and that of our employees in way’s we never imagined. When the war began, EPAM had 16,000 employees in the region. Within a week, we’d begun moving our employees, their families and even those of other tech companies and our customers to safer areas within Ukraine and neighboring countries. Our employees have continually given their time, money, and energy to support their peers and Ukraine and have shown no signs of slowing down.

  4. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this second question: Outline the organization's achievements since the beginning of 2021 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

    Total 250 words used.

Since the beginning of the war, EPAM has focused on helping our colleagues in Ukraine by providing humanitarian relief, volunteer IT backup, and supporting community initiatives in partnership with local NGOs, and educational institutions. Our initial response included:

    • mobilizing teams to help evacuate our colleagues and their families
    • advancing payment to our Ukrainian colleagues
    • providing accommodations and shelter to evacuated families and creating safe accommodations in various EPAM Ukraine offices
    • providing places to stay during relocation in a new city, including supplying food, showers, and places to sleep and work
    • many EPAM locations across Europe turned their offices into temporary shelters and helped colleagues, families and anyone who was displaced find housing and rebuild their futures
    • renting buses and creating an employee developed ridesharing app for safe transport across the border
    • made a $1million dollar commitment by way of humanitarian and logistical on-the-ground support through the EPAM Ukraine Assistant Fund
    • contributing to the Razom for Ukraine and Leleka 40+ local organizations
    • donating more than $900,000 of medical support and assistance to hospitals
    • prepaid almost $300,000 in Ukrainian taxes in advance
    • donated $100,000 for the needs of the wards of the "Children of Heroes" BF.

Today, EPAM in Ukraine has almost a thousand volunteers who provide humanitarian aid, donate protective equipment, help develop digital solutions or join educational initiatives. The blood donor community is also active, having already donated more than 230 liters of blood for the needs of military hospitals, children's medical institutions, and front line defenders.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

    Total 250 words used.

EPAM is dedicated to our people beyond what other industry companies have provided. What we didn’t know until the war, was how dedicated our employees were in supporting each other. Within hours of the invasion employees were working to create an app and a 24/7 hotline to collect relocation aid requests. EPAMers in the area and around the world started donating time, money, resources, and accommodations in their own homes. Using our app we had employees from neighboring countries drive to the border to pick up pre-arranged rides while continuing their jobs and picking up the duties of their dispossessed co-workers. Employees around the world worked tirelessly to support clients and promote Ukrainian teams and the economy.
    We continued providing aid by:

    • moving and funding critical universities’ infrastructure to the cloud with AWS
    • providing Internet access to 58 Ukrainian schools
    • donating over 1,500 of pieces of equipment and furniture to hospitals, educational institutions, and cities
    • donating $500,000 in first aid supplies and food
    • donating nearly $100,000 worth of special equipment including 16 armored vehicles, 2,000 sets of warm clothes, 183 motor vehicle tools, and 25 sources of electricity
    • donating nearly $1 million dollars of protective gear
    • partnering with the Ministry of Digital Transformation to teach Ukrainians IT skills
    • implementing 16 digital solutions at the request of government institutions including:
      • platform to facilitate faster registration of humanitarian goods at the border
      • platform for organizing a sowing campaign
      • a website to coordinate aid in the city of Ivano-Frankivsk

We are #OneEPAM and we #StandWithUkraine. Amazing to see the work of so many #EPAM volunteers making incredible things happen–we’ve moved over 2,000 pounds of donated #humanitarian and #medical supplies so far, and we’re still going. Julie Hansberry, Senior Director, Global Marketing and Communications

I can’t believe the incredible amount of volunteer work, donations, and on-the-ground support my colleagues at #EPAM have done to keep our people safe and #StandWithUkraine. We’re working with 5 humanitarian partners to make sure humanitarian aid and supplies get in the hands of communities who need it. We have the potential to make a huge impact. Sydney Goldstein, Senior Recruiter
Our amazing #EPAMUS employees welcomed their friends and family to join them in our ongoing efforts to support #Ukraine. This month alone, they have collected almost 500 lbs. of medical supplies, totaling almost $30,000. These supplies are now in route to Ukraine. EPAM Systems
EPAM Poland, along with other EPAM offices globally, are doing everything in their power to help #StandWithUkraine. I’m proud to see how my colleagues have transformed their office spaces into humanitarian and coordination centers with supplies, kid zones, rest/sleep areas, and even animal mini shelters. Macy Donaway, Innovation & Experience Consulting

To pay tribute to #Ukraine today we will remain silent across our social media channels. Jennifer Hough, Senior Manager Field Marketing
