Founded in 2018, EasyCep offers refurbished electronic devices to consumers in Turkey, Qatar and Azerbaijan through more than 150 sales points, with a business model aimed at promoting sustainability.
Offering a wide portfolio of smartphones, tablets, smart watches and computers, the company is Turkey's largest refurbished electronics market.
EasyCep, one of the leading companies in the country, was among the first companies to receive an electronic device renewal license from the Ministry of Commerce with the entry into force of the relevant legislation in Turkey in 2020. EasyCep supports the adoption of the circular economy to promote a sustainable world. By extending the life cycle of electronic devices, EasyCep not only reduces the carbon footprint associated with the production of new devices, but also contributes to energy savings and reduces electronic waste.
The company sponsors educational programs to inform consumers about the environmental benefits of refurbished phones and promotes sustainable product choices through innovative marketing strategies.
A study shows that a refurbished iPhone 11 has a carbon footprint of approximately 15.7 kg. In comparison, producing a new smartphone produces approximately 72 kg of carbon emissions, making refurbished devices 78 percent more carbon efficient. To date, the company has prevented over 1,000 tons of carbon emissions by renewing over 400,000 smartphones. Additionally, the water usage of renewed devices is approximately 1,695 liters, saving 86 percent compared to the 12,000 liters required for a new device.
In terms of electronic waste, refurbishing mobile phones produces approximately 70 grams of waste. This is a 71 percent reduction compared to the total weight of a new device, which is 239 grams.
Beyond its main activities, EasyCep donates electronic devices that its employees do not use or break to the Turkish Informatics Industrialists Association (TÜBİSAD) for recycling, within the scope of its ongoing cooperation with the association. For the future, EasyCep plans to expand this cooperation to ensure that consumer electronic waste is collected and recycled by TÜBİSAD at 161 physical sales points across Turkey.

EasyCep has carried out successful campaigns to raise consumer awareness about renewed electronic devices in Turkey. EasyCep has become the market leader by capturing approximately 60 percent of the market share in Turkey by the end of 2023.
In 2023, the company launched an advertising campaign with the slogan "We Refresh Heads" encouraging consumers to re-evaluate their perception of refurbished phones as a smart choice. This campaign earned EasyCep the "Most Liked Advertisement of the Year" award from Marketing Türkiye, one of the country's leading marketing publications.
