Sugarmate, an innovative app for individuals with type 1 diabetes and caregivers, aims to alleviate the stress of diabetes management. Its objectives are to provide valuable tools, foster patient-caregiver collaboration, and leverage technology for better health outcomes.
To meet these objectives, Sugarmate offers an interactive graph, customizable data with 30+ tiles, an activity feed for tracking exercise, medication, food, and insulin delivery, and a nutritional database powered by FatSecret. Automatic exercise detection syncs with Apple Health, and users can bookmark favorite activities, receive below-normal reading alerts, and utilize voice recognition. Caregivers can remotely monitor glucose levels, follow multiple users, and export reports.
Notable milestones include Tandem Diabetes Care's acquisition of Sugarmate, Inc. in June 2020, surpassing the collection of over 8 billion CGM readings in October 2021, and becoming an authorized Dexcom data partner in November 2021.
