    DESCRIPTION OF ENTRY

    The Coffee Festival, started its journey in Istanbul in 2014 and continued annually than after, it hosted more and more visitors every year. Surely, it is not a coincidence that this journey has begun and continues in different places that share common urban memory and culture. Combining qualified coffee and life culture with the touch of the city to create a new festival experience for consumers, The Ankara Coffee Festival is delighted to be the creator and bearer of a growing and rich culture along with the participation of thousands of townspeople since the very first day. 

    Bilkent Center, is managed by Tepe Emlak Investment Co., is in one of the most valuable locations in capital city Ankara since 1998. It was renovated in 2018 to turn into a lively shopping center to fulfill various expectations of visitors. Bilkent Center which is a trending meeting point for Ankara residents, organized the sixth Ankara Coffee Festival between September 23-25 in 2022. Bilkent Center continues to bring people together around the coffee theme with a growing interest each year from 2016

    Every year, Ankara Coffee Festival grows by adding on to the previous year and brings the field of experience all the way, presenting a cultural space where quality coffee touches the life practices of the participants. 

    GOALS

    • Making the exponential growth of coffee industry sustainable.
    • Organizing the most attractive and trendy event of the city.
    • Creating a new theme festival experience for coffee lovers.
    • Undertaking the mission of contributing to the growth of the coffee industry in Ankara.
    • Demolishing the negative effects of pandemic.
    • Contributing to the footfall numbers of the shopping center.
    • Providing engagement with visitors in all ages.
    • Increasing store revenues significantly 

    RESULTS

    • The festival was visited by 9.864, 10.898 and 12.224 people daily consecutively.
    • In 2022, 32.477 visitors had the opportunity to have third generation coffee experience from various regions of the world.
    • Around 89K cup of coffee was consumed during the festival. Waste cups were sent for recycling.
    • 390K clean coffee grounds collected at the end of the festival were sent to the compost areas of municipalities.
    • As a result of 220K impression, 182K reach, the number of followers on social media increased by 17% during the festival.
    • An increase of 161% on the number of visitors and a 240% increase in shopping center revenue were recorded compared with last year.
    • The total budget spent was €18.079.
    • Ankara Coffee Festival was integrated with Bilkent Center and became a preferred place to socialize. Bilkent Center conducted a survey, asking Instagram followers if they would like to attend the Coffee Festival again. 90 % of 1.000 followers said “Yes”.
    • Ankara Coffee Festival has been shown as one of the must-visit festivals in Turkey by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
    • Bilkent Center will be honored to organize the festival in September 22-24 2023 again, marketing plan and budgets are developed accordingly.
