Azercell (Azercell Telecom LLC) - the leader of the mobile communication industry of Azerbaijan.

“Azercell Telecom” LLC was founded in 1996. Guided by its strategic purpose “Easing connectivity, empowering lives” the company has become the choice of more than 5 million subscribers. The market share of Azercell is 49%, while its geographical coverage and population coverage constitute 94,50% and 98.38% respectively. The total number of LTE stations of the leading mobile operator has exceeded 3400 units. Azercell was the first to introduce a number of innovations in Azerbaijan, including GSM technology, advance payment system, mobile internet services, 24/7 Call Center Service (*1111), 7/7 Front Office service, Azercell Express offices, M2M services, 4G technology, mobile and online customer care services and customer services through social media, “ASAN Imza” mobile e-signature service and other solutions, the deployment of 5G technology in a trial mode, etc. Azercell launched an enhanced Virtual Assistant service, creating the first Azerbaijani-language bot to respond to customers' inquiries.

In the year of 2023, Azercell initiated a large-scale chain social project. The "White suits girls best" social campaign, which encourages girls to develop, be strong, and engage in sports, created a significant impact within the community and garnered extensive discussions on television and social media, involving prominent figures and influencers. Responding to the campaign's call, 1000 girls joined judo classes.

The "White Suits Girls" project is a powerful social initiative aimed at encouraging young girls to embrace healthy and active lifestyles while addressing the issue of early marriage, which is a prevalent problem both globally and nationally. The campaign provided teenage girls residing in regions with Azerbaijan Judo Federation schools and sections with judogi (Judo uniforms) and a month of free Judo training. This impactful initiative has yielded remarkable results. Not only has it encouraged thousands of young people to take up sports but has also led to a 100% increase in the number of girls practicing judo.

The campaign has been repeatedly honored with international and local awards.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

    Total 181 words used.

The social company implemented by Azercell reached its goal!

The number of girls in Judo led to 100% increase for today. The white judogi changed the lives of thouthands girls and possibly saved thouthands from child marriage!

Discussions about banning marriages of persons under 18 years of age in Azerbaijan was intensified. Under the Family Code, if there are compelling reasons, the relevant executive authority in the area where the individuals who wish to marry reside may allow the marriage age to be reduced by up to one year at their request. The proposed amendment seeks to repeal this provision, thereby eliminating the possibility of reducing the marriage age by one year for any reason. The project emphasized that allowing a one-year reduction in the marriage age under certain conditions often results in limiting the rights and freedoms of minors. The lack of clear criteria for determining "compelling reasons" opens the door to potential abuse of this norm.

In conclusion, according to the current Family Code, the legal age of marriage in the Republic of Azerbaijan is set at 18 years.
