CyraCom’s Chairman and CEO Jeremy Woan has not only transformed CyraCom into one of the fastest-growing private companies in the US, but he has also transformed the entire language interpretation industry

CyraCom is widely renowned as a leading language interpreting service provider. CyraCom improves the lives of millions by connecting those with limited English proficiency to essential services – healthcare, 9-1-1, finance, and more – in a language of their choice. Whether in-person or via phone, video, mobile app, or written text, CyraCom bridges communication gaps in seconds for organizations that need language assistance.

While the Company had been in business since 1995, it was facing major challenges. However, instead of rushing to raise capital, Jeremy decided to turn the business around with short-term debt. Jeremy transformed CyraCom by recreating the company as a large-scale contact center business. While the transformation required CyraCom to make substantial investments in infrastructure, Jeremy did so while incurring minimal debt and without any equity injection. He hired experienced contact center staff to implement industry best practices and adapted those to telephonic interpretation. He determined that with careful management, he could use fixed costs and infrastructure to generate significant operating efficiencies, implement aggressive quality standards, and truly price competitive.
