VIRTUSA KEY DIFFERENTIATOR – OUR PEOPLE METRIC: EDI (Employee Delight Index)

In this age of Digitization, big data, cloud computing, social business, and mobility are causing digital disruption across industries. Social media and mobile technologies have dynamically shifted the balance of power and influence to the consumer end. In this consumer driven business space Virtusa has been cognizant that ROI can be achieved only if HR focuses on its internal customers, employees first and their delight. In this tangent, we have architected a key metric on our employee satisfaction/delight rate branded as the Employee Delight Index (EDI).

EDI is a compilation of 8 key people parameters of employee life cycle.

• Onboarding Experience is evaluated based on the net promoter score rating, “How likely are you to recommend Virtusa to your friends.”
• Exit Interview encompasses Voluntary feedback dossiers given by exiting employees.
• Stretch role % of top talent encompasses employees playing a higher role than his/her current designation.
• Service excellence score, which covers the current published internal HR service excellence score.
• Social adoption (RAVE and Yammer social platform) includes number of interactions per person (Yammer) and number of Raves sent per person.
• Overall attrition, includes all voluntary and involuntary exits during the period.
• Top Talent attrition, Employees exits who have been rated “outstanding and exceed expectation consistently” during the period.
• CNBL Attrition, employees are rated chronically not billed if they have not been billed continuously for 90 days or more. This excludes tier 4 employees.

TANGIBLE OUTCOMES:

The EDI parameters soared for the year FY15 indicating the rich employees delight and engagement. We made as high as 87%, up from the previous year’s index 73%. There was a radical reduction in our vendor hires by 20%. Our sustained revenue growth is the evidence of the same, which observed stark growth from $80.5 M in Q2 FY13 to $ 123 M in Q3 FY15. Our delivery maturity index climbed from 3.28 to 3.45 and client delight index clocked 8.6/10 showing sustained high performance.
