The Design-Build Institute of America’s annual Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a design-build leader who has made meaningful contributions to our industry while demonstrating dedication and advocacy for the design-build project delivery method. Named after Filippo Brunelleschi, one of history’s greatest architects and engineers, it is DBIA’s highest honor for an individual. Recipients of this award have exhibited leadership, vision and dedication over the course of their professional life. Each year, DBIA produces a video that celebrates the winner’s life, career and impact on industry.

The recipient of the 2024 Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award was Donald G. Warren, one of the original founders of the Design-Build Institute of America over 30 years ago. The video tribute featured family, friends and colleagues who offered their heartfelt messages about Don’s qualities as a leader, educator, mentor and as a design-build champion throughout his long career. The video was a main feature of our awards presentation ceremony at the 2024 Annual Conference in Dallas, Texas attended by up to 1,000 industry professionals, serving as inspiration for many aspiring young professionals starting out in their careers.
