Founded in 2010, Vantage Data Centers is a leading global provider of data center campuses that power, cool, protect and connect the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Prior to 2019, Vantage Data Centers was a regional, west coast data center owner and operator with facilities in Santa Clara, California, and Quincy, Washington. In 2019, Vantage began rapidly expanding globally making its first international move with the acquisition of Canada’s 4Degrees Colocation. In the last four years, Vantage has grown both organically and through acquisition to be a global powerhouse with 26 campuses in 18 markets across 12 countries and five continents. In 2022, the company raised more than $3 billion of debt and equity financing to support its expansion and continued its unprecedented growth, outperforming its previous leasing record set in 2021. Vantage’s design, engineering and construction teams constantly explore innovative ways to make its standardized, modular data center design as efficient and sustainable as possible while consistently providing superior customer experience. To become the leading provider of hyperscale data center campuses globally, Vantage is building a global digital infrastructure platform. In 2021, Vantage added 11 new campuses to its portfolio following its entrance into Asia Pacific and Africa and continued expansion within its EMEA and North America markets. That year, Vantage raised a record $4.9 billion in debt and equity funding. Vantage’s 2022 achievements include:
North America:
Canada: Vantage leveraged a CAD$900M investment to help fund the development of a third Montreal campus while expanding existing campuses in Montreal and Quebec City. Upon completion, Vantage’s four Canadian campuses will total 143MW of IT capacity.
United States: Vantage opened new data centers in many of its US markets, including Virginia, Arizona, Washington and California.
EMEA:
South Africa: Vantage opened its first African campus in Johannesburg offering 16MW of IT capacity – with plans for a second Johannesburg campus that will consist of 20MW of IT capacity.
Poland: Vantage opened its first data center campus in Poland. Once fully developed, the two-facility campus will offer 48MW of IT capacity.
Germany: Vantage announced four new data center openings in Frankfurt and Berlin, and a new business office in Raunheim.
APAC:
Cyberjaya: Vantage announced the delivery of a second data center and plans for a third facility.
Hong Kong: Vantage announced the opening of a Hong Kong office, serving as the regional hub for engineering, construction, sales, finance, accounting and leadership functions to support the company’s business across APAC.

Vantage’s growth was made possible in part by innovative funding strategies that enabled it to meet market demand and provide customers with state-of-the-art facilities. And Vantage’s growth is helping the communities into which it is expanding. Each data center development creates hundreds of construction jobs and, once operational, the facilities are maintained by employees in full-time, high-paying jobs. Vantage champions sustainability, maintaining a bold commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2030. It also has made major investments to reduce water usage to near zero, minimize waste in construction and utilize sustainable design principles. Vantage standardizes designs and equipment to gain supply chain efficiencies and reduce power consumption across all facilities. In fact, Vantage’s sustainable practices enabled the company to secure more than $368 million in green loan funding. Vantage has focused heavily on investing in its staff, including funding training for its facilities teams to ensure that onsite staff can make repairs rather than relying on outside vendors for critical issue resolution. The company deepened its leadership resources by retaining executives from acquired companies to ensure consistency of service and local expertise in each region. Vantage also evolved its leadership roster to diversify the company’s thinking and expand representation by women and people of color within global management. In the last four years, Vantage’s approach has moved the company from being a US west coast provider to a global powerhouse with 26 campuses in 18 markets across 12 countries and five continents.
