World Energy is pushing the threshold of what is possible in carbon emissions. As the world’s first and North America’s only commercial-scale sustainable aviation fuel providers, World Energy’s SAF has helped the aviation industry achieve meaningful progress toward its net-zero emissions goals. World Energy’s low-carbon fuel solutions generate lower-carbon GHG emissions, reduce air pollution, and diminish dependence on foreign fuels by diversifying the energy supply. In 2020, World Energy’s products reduced more than 1.04 billion pounds of carbon; the equivalent of 104 thousand cars removed from the road. World Energy’s fuel solutions decrease NOx, SOx, and particulate emissions in addition to an 85 percent decrease in carbon emissions.
In 2021, World Energy changed from truck delivery of liquid hydrogen to pipeline delivery of gaseous hydrogen from a local Southern California supplier and decreased the carbon intensity in its fuel production by 35 percent.
World Energy is actively researching and developing solutions to push beyond 50 percent SAF blends and commercialize 100 percent SAF use. The company participated in two 100 percent SAF test flights with both Rolls Royce and United Airlines in 2021.
