2006 AMERICAN BUSINESS AWARDSSM ANNOUNCE FINALISTS
FOR COVETED ANNUAL BUSINESS HONORS

Stevie® Award Winners To Be Honored June 12 in New York City;
Several Finalists Highlighted for Their Role in Hurricane Katrina Recovery

New York, NY – May 15, 2006 – Companies as diverse as Cybertrust, Nuveen Investments, and Trinity Hospice are among those with multiple Finalists vying for Stevie Awards in The 4th Annual American Business Awards.  Complete lists of Finalists in all categories were unveiled today at /aba/2007-honorees

The American Business Awards are the only national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.

Reflecting the pivotal role that business played in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, several companies were singled out as Finalists for their leadership in recovery efforts, including Avendra, CDW Corporation, Enterprise Fleet Services, and Entergy Corporation.

Another trend captured by this year’s Finalists is the resurgence in the technology and internet industry. In fact, high-tech companies hailing from California dominate several categories including Most Innovative Company. Overall, California boasts more nominations than any other state.

Nicknamed Stevie for the Greek word “crowned,” the coveted award is designed by the same company that makes the Emmy, Clio, and other major awards.  Stevie winners will be announced during a gala at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel on Monday, June 12. For the third year in a row, CNN business anchor Ali Velshi will serve as the emcee.

More than 1,500 nominations were submitted for consideration in more than 40 categories, including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best Corporate Social Responsibility Program, and Best Sales Organization.

Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie winners from among the Finalists. Finalists were selected by business professionals nationwide during more than two months of preliminary judging.

The June 12 ceremonies will be videocast live on the Internet by HB Group.  They will also be broadcast on radio, commercial free, by the BusinessTalk Radio Network.
