InnoCaption is the only mobile app that offers real-time captioning of phone calls through live stenographers and automated speech recognition software, making phone calls easy and accessible for the deaf and hard of hearing community. At InnoCaption, the motivation and mission is increasing accessibility to as many members of the deaf and hard of hearing community as possible.
Over the past year, InnoCaption has increased active users by 65% and saw the average call volume more than double. To keep up with the rising demand in calls and users, InnoCaption also doubled its pool of stenographers, who provide live captioning assistance. The InnoCaption Team was granted conditional certification to add ASR to their service offerings by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
In direct response to COVID-19’s impact on increased remote working, InnoCaption launched DeskView to enable users to view captions from their phone mirrored on desktop devices, making conference calls, telehealth visits, and virtual hangouts with family and friends more accessible. Additionally, the team added the ability to generate captions of Spanish phone calls through ASR and is working hard to roll out support for more languages in 2021.
