Briefly describe this nomination’s communications objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 100 words):

The Targeted Communication Plan called for expanded communications to the
investment community including an increased number of analyst meetings with
exposure to business leaders, key messages and increased visibility of Lucent's
strategy and product information.

To date, we have

1. Held a large financial analyst meeting with an innovative format which helped
improve overall communications between LU management and the investment
community.

2. We have held 4 in a series of teleconferences titled "Brown Bag eLunch".  The
conferences are geared to the analyst community and include presentations from
key LU product and service and segments.  Its popularity is increasing and
participation is higher with each conference.

3.  On the social side, we held our 1st Annual Lucent & Financial Analyst Softball
Challege which received overwhelmingly positive feedback.  Teams included
financial analysts and all levels of Lucent management from CEO to Manager.
4.  Hosted approximately 130 large and small group and one-on-ones with
executives, teleconferences and trade shows.

Our stock price has increased over 184% in the fiscal year and we have confirmed
our progress with the investment community through two follow-up perception
studies.
