Briefly describe this entry’s communications objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 200 words):

This video introduced Mercedes-Benz’s new Sprinter Vans plant in Charleston, S.C. It served as the central feature of the opening moment of a training program for more than 2,000 Mercedes-Benz dealers, sales and service managers, fleet managers, master upfitters, and corporate employees.

This video was designed to showcase scale, precision, and teamwork; demonstrate team and South Carolina pride for the all-new plant; and let team members speak for themselves about how much the plant means to them.

The video had to feature all of the shops within the plant, communicating each one’s unique character and points of focus. (Specifically, Body is all about the robots and automation. Paint is all about polish, literally and figuratively. And Assembly has the most team members, and it is where the vehicles become sales-ready.)

The Mercedes-Benz client called the video "the best factory video I've ever seen" — and audiences agreed. In fact, due to how well it was received in the initial training sessions, the video wound up getting used on far more occasions than originally intended.
