This convention took place in Orlando on October 17-21, 2003.

Briefly describe this nomination’s communications objectives and how it met those objectives (up to 100 words):

The Siemens Medical Solutions National Sales Meeting is an intensive 3-day, 4-
night gathering of 1200 account execs.  The theme of this years
meeting “Achieving Performance Excellence (APEX)” offered a fresh take on
mountain climbing.  At the welcome reception, a climber claimed the atrium of the
Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando as territory for Siemens with multiple 45’ banner
drops and indoor pyrotechnics from high overhead. Daily Reports from Base Camp
played on the in-room television channel providing recaps of the days events and
upcoming agenda highlights. We delivered mountain-themed decor, designs,
videos, and presentations for general sessions and breakouts.  The Solutions
Forum was an exposition of Siemens modalities that provided a fun learning
environment for the sales team. The culmination of the days events was the
inaugural APEX Awards ceremony that started with a themed environment,
supported by custom awards and video, and caped off with KC and the Sunshine
Band.
