Since its founding in 2001, Zonar has proven to be an innovative trailblazer across the transportation industry, providing smart mobility technology for fleet management throughout vocational, pupil, mass transit and commercial trucking industries. Zonar has consistently met its mission to increase the safety, performance, and success of its customers by helping customers enhance compliance, efficiency, maintenance, ridership visibility and tracking. This year Zonar has been at the forefront of innovation with new and expanded safety solutions to keep drivers, passengers and everyone else on the road safe.
Zonar’s pupil transportation technology MyView™, launched in January 2021 and last year’s Stevie winner, is a mobile app for parents that provides insights on their child’s school bus location to and from schools.
For commercial fleets, in March 2022, Zonar announced an integration with Continental's ContiConnect™ Live Integrated tire pressure management system into Zonar's Ground Traffic Control®. This provides fleets with real-time tire pressure and temperature statuses for all vehicles anywhere they go, which can be displayed on in-cab Samsung tablets and configured to send data alerts to backend staff with ZAlerts.
These are just a few of the tools Zonar provides customers to guarantee safety, compliance with industry regulations and overall efficiency.

Zonar has expanded capabilities in its Electronic Verified Inspection Reporting solution (EVIR®), which is the only patented, verified electronic inspection reporting solution of its kind on the market.
In June 2021, Zonar revolutionized this technology with an app version, EVIR Mobile. With the availability of EVIR on Android and Apple devices, drivers and operators have a more convenient and simple way to complete pre- and post-trip inspections mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
In November 2022, EVIR Mobile can now pre-populate defects that have not been closed out in the maintenance software platform, increasing inspection accuracy and communication between drivers and maintenance teams. It also eliminates the burden of duplicate work orders of the same defect on the same vehicle.
Zonar is also growing its electric school bus initiative, supporting how V4™ telematics units talk to the bus (capturing live location, historical path, speed and state of charge). In July 2022, Zonar launched EV capabilities for EVIR to capture charge components, charge level and verification that chargers are properly connected.
In November 2022, Zonar announced a new app integration with Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), available on its in-cab Samsung devices. The free app helps truckers identify and quickly report instances of labor and sex trafficking observed while on their routes.
In April 2022, Zonar released the Incident Response Center, allowing safety managers to communicate safety incidents and unsafe driving behaviors and exonerate drivers through the Zonar Coach mobile app. Communications are tagged to videos captured by the device.

Unlike traditional paper DVIR and eDVIR, EVIR fleet inspections are truly verifiable. Drivers cannot pencil whip EVIR inspections, nor can they rush through inspections. Compliance teams can know with certainty that fleet inspections are being performed thoroughly and properly every time. To meet Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Mine Safety and Health Administration, and Public Transportation Agency Safety Plans regulations.
Additionally, Zonar’s unique Electric Vehicle Services Program helps fleets adjust to new routing and maintenance considerations for EVs. As part of the program, EVIR remains a critical safety and efficiency offering in the market, with more than 110 million EVIR inspections occurring annually. EVIR has streamlined inspection processes by at least 50 percent compared to paper-based inspections.
Further, the free TAT app trains truckers to identify signs of victimization, particularly in areas such as truck stops, rest areas, city streets and warehouses. It encourages confidential tips be made to the National Human Trafficking Hotline or 911 so law enforcement and emergency workers can be contacted. Zonar is one of only a few telematics companies partnering with TAT to pilot a mobile app program like this.
Finally, Zonar Coach’s Incident Response Center page allows fleet managers to review saved incident videos, send comments to drivers, and respond to disputed incidents. It can help reduce accidents and exonerate drivers for up to 50 percent of accidents.
