In October 2022, Zonar introduced the latest iteration of ZTrak, a ruggedized asset tracker designed for long-range connectivity in remote, harsh environments. ZTrak intelligently tracks and records an asset’s location every five minutes, while the asset is on the move, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars recovered from stolen assets.

In February 2023, Zonar launched OnRoute, delivering clear, accurate, turn-by-turn directions for school bus fleets in real-time. The award-winning solution provides efficient routes, reliability, and punctuality for all drivers, including substitute and veteran drivers.

In March 2023, Zonar released a  feature within its patented electronic verified inspection reporting product, EVIR® Mobile, called Inspection Builder. The tool provides flexibility for all fleet types, tailoring inspection requirements to specific needs while maintaining compliance for standard pre- and post-trip inspections.

In June 2023, Zonar expanded electric school bus support with the availability of state-of-charge (SoC) data for electric vehicle (EV) school buses. The updates help districts optimize resourcing and manage EV bus insights alongside internal combustion engine (ICE) bus data in the same fleet management platform.

Throughout the year, Zonar also broadened the availability of eTAT, to help drivers identify and report labor and sex trafficking in their everyday work. Drivers can view human trafficking red flags and examples, as well as scan QR codes with their personal mobile devices to access training videos and more.

This year, Zonar has strengthened its commitment to fleet health and safety

Zonar’s expanded capabilities and key partnerships continue to support the advancement of technology and improve safety for student riders on school bus fleets. Not only is it imperative that school bus drivers have the real-time, detailed routing data and reporting they need to stay on track, but solutions like OnRoute and EV State-of-Charge also respond to the ever-increasing focus on student safety by keeping buses maintained to be able to transport students on time, safely.

Zonar’s latest product rollouts also offer real-time insights into precise vehicle location, current and historical state-of-charge data, stop-by-stop driving and charge analysis, trip duration and trip history, real-time road conditions and more information to inform routes, stops, and turn-by-turn directions for maximum vehicle health and performance.

Zonar’s patented EVIR fleet inspections are truly verifiable and streamline processes with no paper trail. Drivers cannot pencil whip EVIR inspections, nor can they rush through inspections— compliance teams can know with certainty that fleet inspections are being performed thoroughly and properly every time. EVIR has streamlined inspection processes by at least 50 percent compared to paper-based inspections.

Further, Zonar leverages opportunities to partner with industry groups, like ATA and WIT to improve fleet health and safety on a national scale. In partnership, Zonar representatives and industry groups are addressing key issues like truck parking capacity, distracted and impaired driving, and human trafficking to drive real change to improve the safety of all on the road.
