As CEO of YouSendIt, Ivan Koon has built one of the world’s most widely used
and rapidly adopted online applications. More than 11 million people in 220
countries rely on YouSendIt to send large files for business and personal
communications. Koon manages the company's core operations, business growth,
strategy and key partnerships. He has not only helped transform the company
from an ad-based to a subscription-based model, but he also has played an
integral role in establishing YouSendIt's leadership position in the category
of secure managed file transfer. Koon has been at the forefront of
YouSendIt’s “freemium” model, a business approach that offers basic services
for free, while charging a premium for advanced or special features.
In 2009, Koon led the company’s growth surge, with 300,000 new users every
month, more than 150,000 subscribers and more than 1,500 corporate customers.
Increasing endorsement from businesses around the world embracing the service
has enabled YouSendIt to experience its two best quarters in the history of the
company this year, despite the nation’s economic turmoil. To date the company
has had 3.4 million plug-in copies and has more than 12 million files uploaded
or downloaded on a daily basis, which comes out to more than 40,000GB of data
that is sent, received and tracked through YouSendIt.
Through Koon’s leadership, YouSendIt has won industry recognition for its

ad-based to a subscription-based model and has helped solidify YouSendIt's
leadership in secure managed file transfer. He has a track record of more than
20 years of operational and management success. Prior to leading YouSendIt,
Koon was senior vice president of the Adobe Acrobat Intelligent Document
business unit, where he more than doubled Acrobat's revenue in less than three
years and created an Enterprise Document LifeCycle Server business that grew to
over $100 million in revenue.
