Nomination Title: Paige Dudek
Paige Dudek is the backbone and spirit of VOMO. As a company that exists to change the world by serving those who serve others, Paige exemplifies everything it means to be a “VOMie”. Her positivity and genuine character are just the beginning of the list of reasons she deserves to be recognized as Support Staffer of the Year.
VOMO, which stands for Volunteer Movement, is a platform built to help organizations streamline their volunteer engagement. We are a small, close-knit team that thrives because of every extra step made by Paige. She takes care of 100’s of unseen tasks that keep the company running smoothly. When the company moved into a new office in November 2020, Paige orchestrated everything from directing the movers to cleaning the old space after everything was removed. She even went so far as to arrange for the company core values to be emblazoned on our wall, an extra touch that makes this space feel like “ours”.
After the abrupt departure of the Director of Sales back in September 2019, Paige stepped up to lead the sales team. In doing so, she turned what was once a stressful environment into a fun, exciting atmosphere through team building games like company-wide Jenga. She also still managed to operate daily office functions such as ordering supplies and manning the phone. Her willingness to help and ability to work cross-functionally are two of the many attributes which earned her the title Human of the Month, September 2019.
Paige cultivates company culture through organizing, planning, and executing team events like lunches, holiday celebrations, and Popcorn Fridays. She also spearheads quarterly office outreaches, fulfilling our company core value “we lead by serving” and fostering team bonding.
When COVID-19 shook the world and the company had to shift, Paige didn’t miss a beat. We relaunched our Be A Neighbor campaign and she was at the helm to ensure it functioned without a hitch. She spent her personal time mastering the platform overnight as she sourced and posted various serving opportunities to the campaign page. In addition, Paige learned the ins and outs of WordPress, HubSpot, Mailchimp, and Canva in the span of a week to seamlessly manage the national campaign. She also took on managing all social media for the campaign while still completing her regular work and, somehow, never letting the snack box run empty.
Paige created and took complete ownership of VOMO webinars. This includes sending pre-/post webinar emails, surveys, and polls. In managing our webinar process she skillfully navigated Zoom, understanding best practices, and set the bar for the quality of VOMO webinars. Since implementing our webinars, the attendance rate has been 45%, in line with industry averages.
A woman who can wear many hats, Paige is our glue. Her unending dedication to VOMO shows in spades through her passion for everything that she does.
