Vantage Data Centers is a leading provider of data center campuses that power, cool, protect and connect the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Originally a regional, west coast data center owner and operator with facilities in Santa Clara, California and Quincy, Washington, Vantage sought rapid global expansion starting in 2019 with its first international move: the acquisition of Canada’s 4Degrees Colocation. The company continued on its expansion path in the years that followed, growing in its current markets and adding new markets around the globe. This was accomplished by both organic growth and a total of six international acquisitions.

In 2021, Vantage added 11 new campuses to its portfolio following its entrance into Asia Pacific and Africa and continued expansion within its EMEA and North America markets. That year, Vantage raised a record $4.9 billion in debt and equity funding.

More recently in 2022, Vantage began developing four new campuses in Montreal, Berlin, Frankfurt and Johannesburg. The company also opened 13 data centers across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, in addition to setting a record year of leasing. Vantage raised more USD$3 billion of debt and equity financing throughout the year, including USD$368 million in green loans to advance sustainable developments in Quebec City and Northern Virginia.

Today, Vantage is a global powerhouse with 26 campuses in 18 markets across 12 countries and five continents, continuously scaling to deliver superior customer experience. The company’s customer roster includes some of the world’s largest technology brands, companies which continue to partner with Vantage around the globe thanks in part to Vantage’s operational excellence and unparalleled customer experience as evidenced by its world-class Net Promoter Score of 70.

Throughout its growth, Vantage is helping the communities into which it is expanding. Each development creates hundreds of construction jobs and, once operational, the facilities are maintained by employees in full-time, high-paying jobs.

To keep pace with its growth, Vantage’s employee base increased by more than 60%, ending 2022 with more than 1,000 employees around the world. The company also scaled its leadership team with the addition of multiple global executives in core business and operations functions globally, including Chief People and Culture Officer, Chief Information Officer and Chief Legal Officer – all new roles in the company’s history.

The leadership team continues to leverage innovative funding strategies that enable Vantage to meet market demand and provide customers with state-of-the-art facilities designed with sustainability and operational excellence in mind. Once fully developed, Vantage’s global portfolio of current and planned campuses will enable the company to meet customer demand with more than 1.5GW of IT capacity across 10 million+ square feet.

Looking forward, Vantage’s leadership team will continue to prioritize environmental responsibility following its commitment to achieve net zero carbon emissions globally by 2030. Through the focus on emissions reduction, renewable energy, supply chain and carbon offsets, Vantage will continually increase efficiencies and reduce environmental impacts at its hyperscale data center campuses worldwide. Renewable energy options are available today at the majority of the company’s locations.
