    As a Medicare Plan provider, UPMC for Life’s members depend on us to deliver consistently comprehensive & compassionate care to each patient that walks through the doors of any facility or function associated with our brand name. From finding that perfect prescription drug coverage for the new year, to ensuring searching for a specific specialist is simple as possible, the entire team at UPMC for Life works in harmony to provide a truly wholistic member experience. From the time of sign up, to the scheduling of a surgery, we aim to always be a partner in care and set a standard of sincerity.  

    In the same vein as a member’s dependency on their plan, we too depend on the member’s continued loyalty and love for how we handle their health. While this brand loyalty is often achieved purely and impulsively through the providing of exceptional services over a long period of time, we still depend on that regularity and retention to succeed. In hopes of further fostering this symbiotic relationship between patients and their health plan, the UPMC for Life Community Relations team implemented our inaugural Member Appreciation Month. 

    Spanning the great state of Pennsylvania, our Member Appreciation events sparked excitement and smiles across the commonwealth in the month of August 2022. Featured in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Hermitage & Williamsport, we carefully chose key community locations best strategically suited to play host to our membership base. Drawing in over 1,000 guests, we gave thanks to our member communities through good food, good entertainment, good company, a special gift bag and a personal message from our Chief Medicare Officer.  

    Kicking off the celebration on the 2nd in a region of highest density, we hosted hundreds of our members and their closest friends in Pittsburgh at the Heinz History Center. Featuring a hit performance by The Vogues in a beautiful ballroom overlooking the Allegheny River, many danced along to music hitting the top charts in their heyday. If needing a break from the band’s boisterousness, attendees were welcome to explore the museum’s entire six floors at their leisure, free of charge. After all that excitement, a wide array of charcuterie awaited any in need of refueling. If hoping to cement this celebration into a concrete piece of memorabilia, we ensured a caricature artist and photo booth were on site for any ready and willing to strike a pose. Similarly, we provided a popular promotional gift bag containing a branded resistance band, salad container, fidget square, gratitude journal and playing cards as a token of appreciation. 

    Following a similar event structure, we continued our month of celebration at the Harrisburg Hilton (8/10), the Avalon Country Club in Hermitage (8/22) and Genetti Hotel in Williamsport (8/30) to cover all corners of our membership’s geography. While proper choice of place was a factor, most were drawn in by the myriad marvelous marketing pieces and placements produced which have been attached for your viewing pleasure. From an eye-catching invitation encouraging an RSVP via QR code, to remindful blurbs in quarterly newsletters leading up to the events, we wanted to ensure as many members as possible could feel our appreciation firsthand.
