    Direct Route for Microsoft Teams was released in June 2020, and a new and improved version featuring Automated Onboarding was released in November of 2021.

    UniVoIP’s team of expert engineers responded to the rising popularity of Microsoft Teams by designing and implementing a cloud-native, purpose-built for Teams direct routing service known as Direct Route for Microsoft Teams. The solution unlocks the potential of Microsoft Teams and improves productivity and collaboration by allowing users to make, receive, and transfer calls all natively from within the Teams application. Additionally, users can overlay non-Microsoft features including fax, analog, and external paging. No longer must users rely on a desk phone or third-party plugins, and calls can be made from any device with a Microsoft Teams application and a user license. Further, Direct Route for Microsoft Teams’ dedicated network brings a high degree of redundancy; maintenance in one data center location won’t impede connectivity. 

    In November 2021, UniVoIP engineers created, from the ground-up, an Automated Onboarding Workflow via Service Control, a single-pane-of-glass visibility and management portal, to give Teams users vastly increased managerial control and improved ease of doing business with UniVoIP. Enabling admins to activate Teams Direct Routing voice paths, select and add new telephone numbers to Teams in real-time, initiate porting requests for existing numbers, associate telephone numbers to users, and verify services by automatically tracking outbound and inbound calls, implementing direct routing services has never been done more quickly.
