The typical company hierarchy doesn't exist at Sourgum Waste because everyone works towards the same goal. Our managers and executives understand that the only way to achieve our company aspirations is together, and that means everyone must put in the same work regardless of their position.

The C-Suite and D-Suite at Sourgum Waste are exceptional because they are on the ground keeping operations running alongside the employees they oversee. From our CEO checking in with every department daily to the other C and D-Suite execs honestly informing the company about their wins and losses weekly, top-level Sourgum Waste executives make sure they are just as integrated into the team as anyone else. They practice what they preach and ensure that no one person is more important than another.

Honesty is another thing that makes the Sourgum Waste C-suite and management team unique and different from the rest. Upon hiring, every employee receives the same onboarding in which they learn about the business's core values, and honesty is the first policy they hear about. Sincerity and authenticity help each employee to grow and become a better team member since nothing is hidden or concealed. This includes lower-level employees being honest and open about the performance of top-level employees. Everyone can become better at their position, which is what Sourgum's honesty policy aims to do.

Our company's "open door" policy is central to Sourgum's honesty system. "Open door" means that office doors are literally and figuratively kept open so that any team member can walk in and ask questions throughout the day. Management, C-Suite, and other team members are free to communicate with each other and don't have to go through the bureaucratic hoops of scheduling a meeting just to ask a question or get help with the deliverable they are working on.

The direct involvement in the operations of our company by our C and D-Suite deserves recognition. Our executives aren't telling people what to do while keeping their hands clean. They are right next to team members working with them to troubleshoot and make progress towards department goals.

When he isn't improving our app or coding a new feature into our site, our CEO Joe goes from department to department to ask us what we need from him. He is hands-on and knowledgeable about every departmental project while allowing teams to carry projects to completion in the best way they see fit. Our COO Luciano closely supports the sales team and has conversations with team members throughout the day to brainstorm ways to hit their goals more efficiently and effectively. Our CMO Marie bounces ideas off her team and communicates her wins and losses during daily check-ins. She also makes sure to discuss ways she can better support her team during weekly recaps, always willing to take on an overwhelming task or figure out how to tackle a problem as a team.

All in all, our C-suite and management members are the perfect combination of being involved and trusting in the capabilities of each employee on the team. They provide guidance and support, but they also provide space for us to experiment and bring our own ideas to life.
