Solar Landscape is tapping one of America’s most invisible, under-used resources to revolutionize clean energy: its wealth of warehouse rooftops.

The company partners with the world's largest real estate companies to build massive solar projects on the country’s commercial and industrial rooftops. The projects are scaling clean energy generation at record pace, while lowering energy costs for households in surrounding communities. The company’s recent exponential growth has made it the leading commercial solar developer in the U.S.

Solar Landscape’s sustainable and equitable energy solution has arrived just in time to meet historic energy demands from data centers.

Solar Landscape is now leasing over 150 million square feet of commercial and logistics rooftops nationwide for solar. That equates to more than 1.5 gigawatts of solar, enough to provide power to hundreds of thousands of households – most of which are lower-income families – once the community solar projects are built. Once active, they will avoid the emission of over 1,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. The company will also soon provide annual savings of approximately $20 million for its residential customers. (see complete responce in attachment)

  4. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this second question: Outline the organization's achievements since the beginning of 2023 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

Solar Landscape champions a sustainable and equitable business model that empowers commercial property owners to share in the clean energy and social benefits of community solar projects.

Community solar brings the savings of solar to people who’ve been left out of the clean energy economy. In 2024, Solar Landscape achieved an unparalleled milestone: leasing 150 million square feet of commercial rooftops for community solar. That’s more than 2,600 football fields’ worth of solar panels, enough to provide power to over 260,000 households.

The company is now America’s leading commercial and community solar developer, and today manages the largest clean energy portfolio serving low- and moderate-income households in the U.S. That’s thanks to recent national deals like partnerships with global logistics leader Prologis, Public Storage (with a portfolio of over 130 projects), and National Storage Affiliates (over 1,000 sites being evaluated for solar in 42 states).

That has translated into explosive growth for Solar Landscape, which tripled its headcount in three years and moved into a new national headquarters. It was named the #1 Distributed Generation developer by New Project Media, having deployed over 400 megawatts of solar totaling over $1 billion in capital investment. It also earned the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Grand Prize.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

    Total 195 words used.

Solar Landscape’s clean energy projects are installed on large warehouse and industrial rooftops, not on individual homes or on acres of open space. This solar model is proven to be more effective and efficient than its predecessors by getting large installations built quickly and by putting electrons into the grid closer to where they will be used.

The commercial real estate industry has recognized Solar Landscape’s leadership in high-quality installations and partnerships. With the largest portfolio of rooftop community solar projects in the country, the company has completed over 300 projects and now partners with 8 of the top 10 U.S. REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts).

Solar Landscape’s integrated business functions harness this market momentum for best-in-class project execution. Projects quickly go from proposal to financing to implementation, using artificial intelligence to optimize efficiency and increase lease payments to commercial real estate owners.

Solar Landscape is also differentiated because other solar companies build projects and then sell them to a third party. Solar Landscape owns and operates its projects, reinvesting the revenue in the company’s social equity-oriented mission and growth. This impact investment is unique because it positions the company as a long-term asset owner, alongside its real estate clients.

From installing the company’s first panels themselves in 2012 to forging partnerships with global real estate leaders in 2024, Solar Landscape co-founders Corey Gross and Shaun Keegan have carved out a new model – a clean energy company that’s thriving while serving others through community solar projects.
