    Since our thrift shop beginnings in 1954, we’ve come a long way in the secondhand space, growing from a single store to a global reuse leader. Savers® Value Village® is a for-profit thrift store with the mission to champion reuse and inspire a future where secondhand is second nature. From the thrill of the hunt to the joy of decluttering, Savers helps communities harness the power of reuse to keep clothing and housewares around for years to come. By partnering with non-profit organizations, Savers redirects billions of pounds of secondhand clothing and household goods away from landfills and onto its store racks for reuse – conserving the planet’s natural resources. The Savers® family of thrift stores is the largest for-profit thrift operator in the United States and Canada. We have over 350 stores in the United States, Canada and Australia and 22,700+ team members who are engaged and committed to our mission.  Our business is built on a foundation of ethics and integrity. In 2024, we continued to advance our unique business model, championing reuse, and helping power the circular economy.

    Our mission is to champion reuse and inspire a future where secondhand is second nature.  From the thrill of the hunt to the joy of decluttering, we help communities harness the power of pre-loved stuff to keep reusable items around for years to come.

    Key achievements include:

    • Environmental Impact: Savers diverted over 3.2 billion pounds of reusable goods, reducing waste and supporting a circular economy (2020-2024).  In 2023, the company recycled 14 million pounds of scrap metal through waste management partners in the U.S. and Canada.
       
    • Revenue and Growth: In fiscal year 2024, we processed 1.0 billion pounds of secondhand goods , generating $1.5 billion in revenue, proving that sustainability can drive business success. The company plans to open 25 to 30 new locations in 2025, making thrift shopping more accessible and supporting local communities.
       
    • Human Capital: We believe that a unique perspective is critical to solving complex problems and inspiring a new generation of consumers to think secondhand first.  As of December 28, 2024, 57% of the management roles in our stores and corporate operations were held by team members identifying as female, and 61% of our U.S. workforce was represented by diverse backgrounds and ethnicities.
       
    • Partnerships and Community Support: Through its nonprofit partnerships, Savers paid more than $490 million to its nonprofit partners from 2019 to 2024, providing them with unrestricted revenue to support their community-focused missions.

Savers is a leader in transforming the retail space by making secondhand shopping mainstream, setting itself apart from traditional fast fashion brands. Its ability to divert over 3.2 billion pounds of reusable goods from landfills from 2020-2024is a testament to its commitment to the circular economy, significantly reducing textile waste, a major environmental issue. In comparison to other retailers, Savers' focus on sustainability through local sourcing and waste management partnerships puts it at the forefront of responsible business practices.  In terms of human capital, Savers stands out with 57% of management roles held by women and 61% of its U.S. workforce from diverse backgrounds.. These achievements highlight Savers® Value Village® as a pioneer, setting new standards for social and environmental responsibility in retail.
