A pillar in the community, the Pittsburgh Pirates has revitalized the Northern
area of the city. A historic monument, the Pirates hold five World Series
titles and embodies the culture of our region. We are the tangible aura of
stability, strength, dynasty and success for the entire tri-state area. 

For the 5th time in history the city of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Pirates
hosted its 5th All Star Game during the summer of 2006; making the club tied
for hosting the most All Star Games in Major League history. We are an
outstanding organization which is best defined by our dedication to outreach
and our employees. Interdepartmentally, the spirit of team work is alive and
well in the organization.

With Pirates foundations such as the Pirates Wives Club, Alumnus Board, Pirates
Charities, Pirates Community Baseball Club, and many others the Pittsburgh
Pirates have made a valuable difference. In addition to our successful charity
events, which include Breast Cancer research, Habitat for Humanity, Make A Wish
Foundation, the Pirates support the arts, literacy, and humanities. The
stellar and outstanding efforts towards empowering our communities have been
recognized nationwide with honors such as: The 2006 ASP National Philanthropy
Award, the states highest honor in Philanthropy recognition, The KDKA-TV Lift
Up Award, The YWCA Tribute to Women Awards, and several others. In recognition and celebration of diversity Pirates partner with both national and local outreach groups such as the NAACP, YWCA, and The Urban League to bring about positive change in the social and economic areas of our society.

The dedication of our employees invigorates the organization and strengthens our employees as individuals and as part of a team. Our appreciation for our employees is prevalent with Service Awards and Recognition programs. Employees are offered outstanding benefit packages, 401K and pension plans, paid disability plans, vacation/holiday time off, free parking, onsite fitness center, baseball game tickets for employees and their families, and an abundance of social events.

The only team in the past 6 decades to have hosted 2 All Star Games within a
12 –year period, The Pittsburgh Pirates took an innovative approach to the
executing the festivities; the Pirates involved the entire city, creating new
forms of technology, ticketing, service, marketing, and sponsorship. The club
parlayed the All Star Game to unite and showcase the city into an economic
boom. 

The Pirates also utilized the opportunity to unveil Heritage Square the first
replica mini-museum of the Negro Leagues inside a Major League ballpark. “The
club created a unique experience for fans that will carry on the legacy of the
Negro Leagues for generations to come.”
The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted one of the most successful, memorable, and
innovative All Star Games in history.

Through internet and system service ticketing the club enables fans to review
selections, and purchase tickets through our newest innovation of kiosk ticket
centers. The Pirates guest services staff has been recognized for providing
the best guest and concierge services. With a new design for GrandSlam
training, service staff members provide the apex of customer service, to make
every visit an experience. 

With success stories beyond compare other organizations and teams are trying to
implement versions of Pirates’ practices and programs. Other clubs are trying
to implement kiosk ticketing, GrandSlam trainings, sports unity programs, and
ballpark museums.

The Pittsburgh Pirates show dedication to our community, fans, employees, and
customers; we are a team orientated environment that honors each employee, we
are a landmark in history and to the Pittsburgh culture, we design innovative

Kevin McClatchy is CEO of Pittsburgh Pirates, he is responsible for leading
the day-to-day operations. Kevin has been involved with a variety of important
initiatives with the Pirates. As the youngest owner in baseball,McClatchy
recognized the importance of keeping the Pirates in Pittsburgh and he did so
with the strong support from the community. 
Kevin will be long remembered for building the best ballpark in America. 
McClatchy's vision of a new baseball-only ballpark became a reality as the
Pirates played at PNC Park in 2001.
Kevin is dedicated to supporting the region, working with Pirates Chairman
Bob Nutting, he launched Pirates Charities.
McClatchy has received the Distinguished Leadership award, has been
recognized by the Big Brothers/Big Sisters, by Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for
leadership, and by Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was honored as Man-of-the-Year,
and received the American Heritage Award. News weekly named McClatchy
its "Person-of-the-Year". He is the inspiration behind all that the
organization thrives on.
