During his time as the youngest ever Chief Digital Officer at a Fortune 500 company, Kentaro Kawamori foresaw the need for new solutions to resolve the carbon measurement and data challenge so that organizations can reduce their emissions and earn their place in the future net zero economy. He co-founded Persefoni with a mission to enable every organization and person using its software to positively impact the health of planet Earth. It is Kentaro’s firm belief that capitalism created the climate problem and it will be capitalism, through organizations including Persefoni, that will solve it.

There has never been a global regulatory climate disclosure movement like we are seeing today. With the US’ SEC, EU’s EFRAG, the UK’s FCA and Japan’s FSA mandating new climate disclosure rules, some of the world’s largest companies are now becoming mandated to understand and explain their role in the global low carbon transition to all their stakeholders, especially their investors. This can be a hugely complicated, expensive and resource intensive task. Persefoni is a first of its kind, enterprise-scale platform for carbon accounting and management that makes this whole process simple.

Measurement is the most significant roadblock for companies trying to reduce their emissions and only 9% of companies have been found to adequately quantify their total emissions comprehensively. Persefoni is solving this by developing innovations that deviate democratize global access to emission measurement solutions. Through Kentaro’s foresight for climate data solutions, and swift action, Persefoni is leading the creation of a new multi-billion dollar climate tech industry whose software is fast becoming as vital to the bottom line of enterprises as other enterprise resource planning platforms such as Salesforce.

Following its fast scale up from 2020, Persefoni is today enabling globally operating enterprises and financial institutions to meet stakeholder and regulatory disclosure requirements with the highest degree of trust, transparency and ease while being aligned to universally recognised climate and sustainability standards and frameworks such as CDP, TCFD and PCAF. By simplifying the technical complexity of carbon accounting and enabling more accurate carbon footprint calculations 95% faster than traditional, manual methodologies, Persefoni has become a trusted and indispensable partner to enterprises globally.
