    The Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence (NCBE) has grown and evolved during the last 13 years, but its commitment to governance, particularly governance excellence, has remained constant. In 2019, Nasdaq acquired the Center for Board Excellence (CBE), driven by its mission to support boards in their continuous improvement and inspired by its vision that governance excellence is an ongoing journey rather than a destination. By then, CBE had already assembled and cultivated a community of like-minded collaborators committed to advancing governance excellence through informed and unbiased insights. NCBE has been advancing this vision globally since 2022. 

    NCBE is known for its mission and culture of collaboration, which succeeds in offering a platform for board members and leaders who seek to drive board effectiveness through the collaborative exchange of ideas, community interaction, and content publication. NCBE’s guiding principle is Nasdaq’s strategic purpose to seek to power stronger economies, create more equitable opportunities, and contribute to a more sustainable world.

    The Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence (NCBE) provides members with access to thought leadership on corporate governance topics and best practices to promote governance excellence. With over 30 assets published in 2022, NCBE addresses various governance topics, which are carefully selected by our Insights Councils and Advisory Board. Our Council and Advisory Board members are executives, board members, and academic leaders who are subject matter experts in their respective arenas.  

    The Insights Council assists in identifying topics related to boardroom governance while collaborating closely to develop relevant insights across four key governance themes: Board Best Practices, ESG & Sustainability, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Risk & Cyber Oversight. Our Advisory Board members, in turn, act as a soundboard and source for innovative initiatives to engage with our community, guide thought leadership, and foster community and idea exchange amongst [REDACTED FOR PUBLICATION] members.     In addition to our content, NCBE organizes experiences that help elevate aspiring leaders and facilitate authentic connections with seasoned leaders. Our quarterly whitepapers contain exclusive takeaways from executive leaders, governance professionals, institutional investors, and board directors based on the latest corporate trends.     As NCBE is a non-commercial initiative, our content quality comes at no cost to our member base, unlike many thought leadership publishers.
