Mode Analytics’  Visual Explorer is a flexible visualization system that helps analysts explore data faster and provides easy-to-interpret insights to business stakeholders.

Mode has always pushed to bring analysts and data scientists closer to their business counterparts in the name of better, faster decision making.  Mode’s Visual Explorer is a best-in-class visualization suite that serves as a critical piece of that puzzle by enabling faster collaboration in greater depth than ever before.

Speed to insight is all about iteration. Sometimes, visualizing data helps analysts get there faster than code can. By combining a code-free visualization with the code-first workflow, Mode’s Visual Explorer helps data scientists and business users explore data more quickly, illustrating trends that business leaders are already paying attention to.  For example, the data team might want to show the entire customer acquisition funnel, from initial point of contact to purchase and retention, to help sales and marketing teams make better decisions about how to direct resources.  Dynamic visualizations not only show current numbers, they can also provide an important context by showing how the numbers compare to different time periods (e.g. last quarter, last year, from the very beginning), or by demonstrating how the numbers compare for various customer segments.

Mode’s Visual Explorer builds upon Mode’s award-winning responsive data engine, Helix, to enable analysts and data scientists to deliver information and insights that inform business decisions faster. It brings together the workflows of analysts and business users in new ways, by:

    • Combining code-free visualization with the code-first workflow many analysts prefer, helping data teams iterate on data analysis more quickly.

    • Providing easy-to-interpret insights for business stakeholders, allowing them to see data in a more descriptive way that offers more context

    • Bringing together the workflows of data teams and business users in new ways to enable faster collaboration in greater depth than previously available in any analytics tooling

    • Enabling investigation of large data sets (up to 10Gb) by bypassing the memory limits inherent in web browsers, and empowers data teams to present insights with more depth and dimensionality.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Outline the market performance, critical reception, and customer satisfaction with the product or service to date. State monetary or unit sales figures to date, if possible, and how they compare to expectations or past performance. Provide links to laudatory product or service reviews. Include some customer testimonials, if applicable (up to 350 words):

    Total 345 words used.

Previously, data teams used one type of platform for exploring data, and another for creating the types of BI dashboards that business stakeholders use to consume the data.  Mode’s modern business intelligence platform solves this problem by providing a single place for business decision-makers and analysts to collaborate.  Analysts use Visual Explorer to test hypotheses quickly and highlight key data points and other elements in a more visual way, answering questions quickly and advance knowledge across the entire organization.

Mode’s research also indicated that people often wanted to dive deeper into the analysis to answer more questions. Visual Explorer addresses this issue by providing easy-to-interpret insights for business stakeholders.  It allows business stakeholders to see data in a more descriptive way by highlighting key data points, and encourages them to experiment within data reports to answer their own follow-up questions. By delivering information and insights in an interactive way, Visual Explorer helps to inform business decisions faster.

Mode’s Visual Explorer makes it possible to investigate large data sets to build more descriptive graphs and charts, bypassing the memory limits inherent in web browsers by processing data server-side, ingesting up to 10Gb of data.

“With Mode’s new Visual Explorer feature, we can do everything we need within the platform. This saves time for my team and empowers us to do our jobs better.”

Neil Chainani, Data Science Lead, Square Cash App

“Visual Explorer has been a game changer for my exploratory analysis. It helps me quickly explore data and easily see any issues, and the new workflow saves me a ton of time and headache, now that I don't have to duplicate charts and change things in multiple places.”

Ben Paul, Data Science Manager, Calm

“The Mode platform offers a fast, flexible and collaborative way to unlock the value in our data. Mode was selected by our data team as the platform of choice for enabling our analysts to quickly identify insights and work across commercial and product teams to turn insights into action.”

Krystal Lau, Global Director, Data & Insights, Anheuser-Busch InBev
