In 2008, Harlem RBI opened DREAM Charter School to deepen the organization’s impact in the community.

How to Play Ball, Harlem RBI and DREAM Charter School’s 2013 Annual Report is not an ordinary report. While it presents the typical required information like financials and governance, the report integrates the real stories of Harlem RBI and DREAM youth in the structure of a baseball and softball manual.

Each story in How to Play Ball is prefaced with a baseball and softball tip that is used both on and off the field. The stories are anecdotes that reflect on how a member of the organization’s community used the particular tip to achieve success. Beautiful photos bring the tip to life and reinforce the fact that youth are the most important aspect to the organization’s work.
