In 2002, Global Crossing filed for Chapter 11 protection, and expected to emerge
in the second half of 2003.  Since the budget did not exist to launch any kind of
extensive external campaign to let customers and the general public know we
were -- in essence -- a new company, members of the Corporate Communications
team began a rebranding effort for the external web site.  The web site -- our most
visible, public "face" -- needed to show that the company was ready to take on the
world.  We developed a redesign with a new, more dynamic tone that we believed
was more accessible and sophisticated than the previous "heavy-handed" and "old
established" look. On June 30, 2003, we published the redesigned and
rebranded web site containing a new logo treatment, color scheme and
information about who we are and what we can do for businesses.
