Gemini Steps Up to Meet Complex Middle East Security Threats

After the signing of four major peace agreements between Israel and Arab regional partners, USCENTCOM leaders commended the Gemini Team, most of whom are veterans, for contributions to integrate Israel and Arab Allies more deeply into regional strategies and plans.  This effort intensified after responsibility for U.S.-Israeli military relations passed from U.S. European Command to USCENTCOM.   Gemini personnel received high praise for coordinating vital military diplomatic events and meetings to ensure effective Allied and partner collaboration on crucial military missions.

Gemini experts received customer accolades for their inputs to USCENTCOM public and private communications both in the United States and in the region.  Gemini senior planners drafted congressional testimony and speeches for the Commander USCENTCOM, General Kenneth McKenzie Jr., as well as prepared him for meetings with the President, Secretary of Defense, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  Within USCENTCOM’s Area of Responsibility (AOR), Gemini personnel ensured that vital "Information Competition" products were released to regional publications and social media sites on time and consistent with U.S. policy.

Likewise, USCENTCOM leaders have greatly appreciated the expertise Gemini personnel have brought to the task of comprehensively revamping USCENTCOM’s strategies and plans in the wake of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.   Our Gemini team, led by a senior planner who literally wrote the book on military strategic planning, is at the forefront of crafting the plans for overcoming America’s adversaries in the Middle East and Central Asia.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

Gemini Teams Are Making Exceptional Contributions

At the heart of U.S. Central Command’s (USCENTCOM) efforts to protect American national security interests in the Middle East and Central Asia are Gemini employees who are developing the military strategies and plans to defeat America’s enemies and thwart our adversaries.  The 2017 National Defense Strategy shifted priorities from counterterrorism to inter-state competition, primarily with China and Russia, but also with rising regional powers such as Iran and North Korea.  A secondary priority of the strategy is sustaining ongoing counterterrorism missions around the world.  USCENTCOM, with responsibility for defense strategy, planning, and operations across the Middle East and Central Asia, is active on every level of the National Defense Strategy:  contending with Russian malign influence including its Syria military intervention, challenging China’s influence efforts across the region, nullifying Iranian threats, and neutralizing al-Qaeda and Islamic State terrorists wherever they are found.

U.S. military success in the region depends on the support of Allies and partners, so military diplomacy is central to success.  Concurrently, we simultaneously face persistent and devious propaganda from China, Russia, Iran, and terrorists that seek to undermine U.S. status and influence in the AOR.

For Gemini’s contributions cited here and countless others which cannot be included for classification reasons, USCENTCOM awarded Gemini an extremely rare and highly coveted “Exceptional” performance evaluation for the past year.  Commenting on the recognition, USCENTCOM Commander General Kenneth McKenzie, Jr. said, “This is the most important contract in the Command.”
