OBJECTIVES
Establishing Inizio’s Leadership in Oncology
With 30+ years in oncology, Inizio has supported launches for 60% of leading oncology products. As a first-time exhibitor at the 2024 ASCO Annual Meeting (June), Inizio needed to affirm its role as the premier healthcare outsourcing partner. ASCO, which drew over 45,500 attendees, provided an ideal platform for Inizio to connect with clients and stand-out amid 400+ competitors.
Inizio’s objective was to create a distinctive, conversation-starting booth that showcased its strengths in data, technology, and sustainability. The goal: engage attendees meaningfully, building connections and cementing Inizio’s reputation for innovation. The booth itself needed to be a point of engagement.
Sustainable Design with EnviroPlan
Emota, the events division of Inizio Engage, leveraged its sustainable methodology, EnviroPlan, to create a booth that exemplified Inizio’s environmental commitments. This proprietary approach minimizes environmental impact without sacrificing design quality. By integrating sustainable materials and practices, the booth reinforced Inizio’s values and underscored its leadership in sustainable, forward-thinking solutions.
The specific targets were:
- Engagement: Achieve 300+ unique booth visitors and generate 50 Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
- Sustainability: Reduce CO₂ emissions by over 50% and use recycled materials for more than half of the booth.
- Cost Efficiency: Cut total booth costs by at least 20% compared to traditional builds.
EXPERIENCE
Emota’s EnviroPlan approach produced a booth design that was both visually appealing and sustainable. The booth was built from fully recyclable structural cardboard, giving it strength while allowing easy, efficient transportation and setup. The unique exposed edges invited conversations about sustainability, resonating strongly with attendees.
Thanks to the lightweight cardboard, the booth was flat-packed and shared truck space with other exhibitors, cutting transport emissions and costs. The efficient design reduced installation time from two days to two hours, minimizing labor and accommodation costs.
Using water-based inks and reclaimed rubber flooring, and reusing previous event materials, the booth showcased sustainable practices across every detail. LED lighting highlighted content with minimal energy, and even the Inizio-branded rug, made from recycled polypropylene, came from their office.
The booth’s durability ensures it can be reused at future events, maintaining recyclability without sacrificing fresh appeal.
EnviroPlan is a comprehensive, sustainable approach that incorporates responsible sourcing, manufacture, logistics, assembly, and post-event recycling. This methodology allows striking designs that don’t overshadow branding or visitor experience. Emota has applied EnviroPlan across industries, offering clients an edge in sustainability. Notably, AstraZeneca’s Respiratory stand using EnviroPlan won ‘Best in Show’ at ERS 2023 for its environmental focus.
RESULTS
Environmental Impact: Emota’s booth achieved a 70% reduction in CO₂ emissions, used 70.7% recycled materials, and was 100% recyclable.
Efficiency Gains: Compared to traditional builds, Emota’s design cut setup time from two days to two hours, reducing labor costs by over 50%, drayage by 80%, and overall costs by 30%.
Business Impact: The booth welcomed 500+ attendees, generated 150 SQLs, and has secured $2 million in sales with an estimated $6.6 million ROI. The social media campaign around the booth doubled Inizio’s follower growth rate and amassed 160,000 impressions.
Through this innovative approach, Inizio demonstrated that sustainability, design, and business outcomes can go hand in hand, setting a new benchmark for sustainable events.
