  3. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this second question: Outline the organization's achievements since the beginning of 2023 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 250 words):

    Total 231 words used.

DTS’s most significant achievement is the growth of its cybersecurity division, over 200% year over year, and the firm’s perfect score for the DoD’s Joint Voluntary Surveillance Assessment, an early CMMC assessment. At the time of this achievement, DTS was one of a handful of companies to have achieved this milestone.

With the final rule for CMMC published recently, DTS is uniquely positioned to already have significant assessment experience. The firm guides its contractor clients through remediation, documentation, and the assessment itself. All clients assessed to date have earned JSVA certification, equivalent to CMMC Level 2 certification.

Recognizing the important role of education in cybersecurity practice, the firm launched DTS CyberSchool in 2023, offering its customers self-guided courses and plain-language explanations of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, including OASIS+ Cybersecurity Requirements. DTS also introduced a fee-based tutorial called CyberTrack: Basic that allows companies to create a System Security Plan, an essential piece of evidence-based documentation for establishing trust with partners and customers and the necessary documentation for CMMC Level 1. The self-paced coursework includes learning modules and step-by-step instructions.

The demand for cybersecurity services extends to all facets of business. DTS also serves commercial, healthcare, and nonprofits, leveraging their expertise in government standards, proven processes, and sound guidance.

The market is still maturing but rapidly accelerating towards widespread cybersecurity adoption, and DTS is well-positioned to capitalize with its remediation and security management services.

  4. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this first question: Briefly describe the nominated organization: its history and past performance (up to 200 words):

    Total 195 words used.

Founded in 2011, DTS is a thriving Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. The firm has a strong record in government contracting and has seen exponential growth in its cybersecurity division by meeting the needs of other contractors.
DTS renewed its government contracts in the past year and was awarded a GSA OASIS+ contract. This strong foundation includes GSA Schedules for GSA PSS, GSA IT 70, and FAA eFAST and teaming contracts for VETS 2, VECTOR, ADVISOR, and CIO SP3.

DTS launched its cybersecurity and compliance division in 2020. The practice has grown more than 200% yearly by offering tailored services for CMMC readiness, Security Operations Center support, Managed Security Services, virtual CIO and CISO leadership, cybersecurity training, and migration services.

The firm attracted significant industry recognition as one of the first companies to pass the Joint Surveillance Voluntary Assessment (JSVA), an early CMMC certification, with a perfect score. DTS also has a 100% pass rate for clients who have gone through JVSA, setting the stage for client success with CMMC assessments.

DTS’s cybersecurity leadership has been showcased in webinars, podcasts, articles, and numerous conferences sharing expertise on CMMC compliance, supply chain security, and operationalizing cybersecurity.

  5. If you are providing written answers for your submission, you must provide an answer to this third question: Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 250 words):

    Total 201 words used.

DTS recognized early the value of meeting cybersecurity standards. The company demonstrated that a small business could implement NIST and ISO standards by pursuing these certifications for itself. The firm attracted significant industry recognition as one of the first companies to pass the Joint Surveillance Voluntary Assessment, an early CMMC certification, with a perfect 110/110 score. DTS also has a 100% pass rate for clients who have gone through JVSA, paving the way for new clients being assessed for CMMC.

The experience greatly informed their processes and advice to clients. As of August 2024, fewer than 100 companies worldwide have passed JSVA, and when CMMC is implemented, the DoD estimates only 4% of the contractors needing CMMC certification will be prepared for certification.

DTS leaders are recognized thought leaders and are frequently asked to present or author content for business- and security-focused publications, including Forbes, Washington Technology, American Business Magazine, and Security Magazine. The firm frequently shares best practices, FAQs, advice, and contractor perspectives on its social media channels and in targeted emails.
DTS’s cybersecurity division continues to create new jobs in Northern Virginia and has a HUBZone Security Operations office in Pennsylvania, both CONUS-located for assisting government agencies and contractors.
