Nomination Title: Damian McKinney, Business Execution Professional

Tell the story about what this nominee achieved since January 1 2010 (up to 500 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

An international firm of business execution professionals, McKinney Rogers
takes strategy and makes it happen.  The firm, founded by Damian McKinney, has
a proprietary Mission Leadership approach that is a business application of
military “mission command” focused on delivering highly effective execution
despite changing environments.

This process was honed by McKinney after serving 18 years as a commando with
the UK Royal Marines.  After a brief induction with a consultancy, Damian re-
discovered his love of 'real operational challenges', particularly under severe
pressure and focusing on tangible results. This realization presented him with
an opportunity to create a different sort of consultancy, McKinney Rogers which
was founded in May 1999.

Damian took all that he had learned in the Royal Marines, and some best
practice business management and created what is today one of the premiere
global consultancies specializing in business execution. In ten years he has
built a global organization with offices on every sub- continent. He has
delivered tangible and sustainable results for organizations ranging from
WalMart to Diageo to Pfizer to Thompson Reuters.

2010 was a banner year for Damian McKinney, one in which his firm witnessed 50%
growth.  McKinney Rogers expanded the Wal-Mart leadership Academy, won the NFL
and J.P. Morgan as clients, added partners throughout the world including in
Miami and New York, and signed on Sir Robert Fry former deputy commanding
general of coalition forces during the Iraq war as Chairman.  Sir Robert, now
along with McKinney and the firm’s partners, work directly with the C-Suites of
the world’s leading brands to transform operations, translate strategy into
action, and drive execution to achieve extraordinary results.  Furthermore, the
firm received The Queen's Award for Enterprise presented by Her Majesty The
Queen.

Whilst continuing to drive towards his new 2015 Vision 'to be admired globally
as the leader in business execution', McKinney’s MR Foundation continues to
focus on supporting disadvantaged young people to become future entrepreneurs.
The foundation currently supports 18 students at universities in East Africa
and another has recently distinguished himself with an MBA at Cranfield.
Additionally, Damian is working to extend the foundation globally this year, as
well as launching a new Entrepreneurial competition in Barbados in November
2010.

Despite a difficult business environment, McKinney Rogers clients were well
positioned to maintain market share and a competitive advantage thanks to the
firms "mission command" business application that helps organizations to
identify and anticipate challenges and develop a strategy to leverage
opportunities.

In 2010, McKinney Rogers continued to deliver the firm’s mission results, even
in the recession.  As McKinney claims, "anyone can appear to shine in good
times," but they were lucky to have had the chance to really prove themselves
during the 'war' of the Great Recession.

Damian grew up in Kenya, where he developed a keen interest in adventure.  It
was not surprising therefore that he joined the UK Royal Marines where he
served for 18 years as a commando.  He was recognized a number of times,
including an MBE from Her Majesty The Queen, and commendations from allied
countries. After achieving two degrees, including a Masters at Kings College
London, he moved into business and founded McKinney Rogers in May 1999.  Damian
applied all of the experiences and knowledge he gained with the Royal Marines
and created a premiere global consultancy specializing in business execution.
