Company Description: Coastal Middle and High School is a 501c3 nonprofit private school that serves students in 6th-12th grade. We serve students that struggle in school, are failing, have dropped out or just need something different. Through our small class sizes, frequent breaks and "family style" environment, all of our students are successful.

Lisa Collum is the creator and CEO of a successful curriculum company, Top Score Writing, Inc., and a busy mother of four, yet she is equally dedicated to running her 501c3 nonprofit, Coastal Middle and High School, a unique school dedicated to turning around the lives of struggling students.
In the midst of running a thriving business and raising a family, in 2016 Lisa decided to increase her service to her community by purchasing the small private school and turning it into a successful nonprofit. With a heart dedicated to helping children learn, especially those who are struggling and underprivileged, she used her experience as a public-school teacher in a Title I school and her entrepreneurial spirit to grow Coastal Middle and High School into a safe haven where students in grades 6-12 could find the success that was eluding them in a traditional school setting.
Lisa not only runs Coastal as the owner, but she also serves as the principal and donates her own time, financial resources, and material support to the school. To date, Coastal has a 100% graduation rate. Every student who has enrolled at Coastal has raised their GPA and found their second chance. Some of the successful practices Lisa has implemented include individualized attention, frequent breaks and activities, and the establishment of a friendly, family-like atmosphere.
Lisa has dedicated her career to making a difference in the lives of children and ensuring that all students find success. As a firm believer that any student can learn using the right strategies, she proves her theory true every day.

Since the beginning of 2021, entrepreneur Lisa Collum has:
- Opened an online program with a live teacher to serve students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Increased school enrollment year-to-year, including during the pandemic.
- Achieved a 100% graduation rate.
- Supported parents through the application process resulting in 98% of students being awarded state scholarships, so families do not pay out-of-pocket.
- Implemented differentiation instruction resulting in 100% of students increasing their overall GPA.
- Held first fundraising gala to augment school’s budget.
- Applied for and received 5 grants to support school and students.
- Financially supported Coastal through personal funds and donated materials.
- Implemented the OJT program, an on-the-job-training program for juniors and seniors.
- Won “Best of the Best” Private Schools in Palm Beach County.
