    Reimagining What’s Next
Each year, Cisco’s website – Cisco.com – receives over 50 million unique visitors, spanning 58 country sites in 26 languages. It represents Cisco’s most important brand touchpoint with customers, and it enables our partners and customers throughout their purchase lifecycle. That said, the 8+ year-old site hasn’t kept pace – over time becoming more complex and slower, with limited personalization, and lacking a modern SaaS and direct commerce experiences and capabilities.

Cisco.com Reimagined is part of an enterprise Digital transformation that kicked off in 2021 to support two company-wide aims:

    • Enable Cisco’s transition to software business, enhance Software-as-a Service (SaaS) customer journey and business capabilities
    • Bring more cross-portfolio customer solutions to market to highlight Cisco’s impressive technology innovation and solutions portfolio

We set out to modernize Cisco.com – making it simpler and more meaningful with a contemporary design system and an experience foundation built for scale. That meant moving away from tech speak to more engaging, customer-friendly language with clear benefits and calls to action. It also meant further proofing our platform and capabilities with Cloud technology that adapts to changing customer and business needs – one that doesn’t keep the customer waiting with long load times and doesn’t bore visitors with generic experiences.

The building blocks of the journey included both a new, modern experience for our customers as well as transformational capabilities enabling the delivery of cross-portfolio customer solutions as-a-service.  Foundational building blocks included:

    • Experience Design: A modernized design system as a catalyst to unify digital experiences across the organization.
    • Platforms & Capabilities: Future-ready technology foundation and architecture that drive agility, quality, and scale.
    • Content & Publishing: Simplified content and publishing leveraging the voice of the customer and sophisticated technology capabilities.
    • Value Capture & Change Management: Organizational readiness and alignment
      to drive digital transformation.

Just one year into this three-year transformation, Cisco has already seen early indicators of success. A few examples include:

    • Moving from monthly release cycles to agile weekly releases
    • 33% improvement in page load time (both desktop and mobile)
    • 10% increased visits to the Cisco.com homepage
    • 24% reduction in bounce rate for “reimagined” experiences
    • 190% increase in clicks to “How to Buy”
    • 4x increase in SaaS trials for “reimagined” experiences

Cisco is on a multi-year journey. However, it is the accomplishments in year one that will lay the foundation for success in the future.
