    BERNINA International AG has been one of the world's leading sewing and embroidery machine manufacturers for more than 125 years. The Swiss family-owned company's products are synonymous with innovation and precision. CD2's partnership with BERNINA began in 2017. It was at this time they faced a common issue – they needed to efficiently train more personnel at their retail locations.  The goal was to start with a B2B program of micro courses for their dealer network, delivered to sales staff, technicians, and store owners.  Frequent innovations in their machine features required regular updates to the training. 

    CD2 Learning’s content development team has partnered with the BERNINA instructors and subject matter experts to develop a catalog of over 30 interactive modules, training sales staff, technicians, and store owners.

    Extended Enterprise (using role-based subscriptions) The BERNINA Learning Center combines CD2’s eCommerce technology alongside a tailored subscription model, serving both their US and International markets. Store owners are empowered to purchase licenses each year and distribute them amongst their staff. 

    Gamification and rewards are key driver of BERNINA’s success. Learners are awarded badges as they reach various milestones within the platform. The accumulation of these badges help each store earn additional benefits, including free licenses to the learning center, driving further engagement within the program. From a content perspective, CD2 collaborated with BERNINA to create a library of games (including gameshow quizzes, icon matching exercises, and machine assembly activities), to scenario-based exercises between a customer and a sales associate.

    All this success of the platform has led to a NEW extended enterprise offering - the Customer Training Site

    Capitalizing off the success of the BERNINA Learning Center, a new consumer learning center launched in 2023. This offers BERNINA customers the opportunity to sign up for both on-demand and hybrid learning classes so they too can become a BERNINA master.

    The success of the platform exceeded expectations. During the pandemic (and since), there was an increase in sewing activities and sewists. This program and platform hit at the time when the need was greatest, leading to four years of record growth. The transition to an Enterprise Platform is now complete and makes Bernina a forerunner for training in their specialty industry.

    Sometimes actions speak loudest - when BERNINA decided to roll out the Consumer Learning Center at their largest annual conference, they asked their CD2 Learning Project Manager to Co-Present the conference.

    The new Consumer Learning Center has a rich library of Mastery Courses. (Mock-up of library attached). Each user can select courses according to the machine they own. There is a simple registration and payment process, and courses can be revisited as often as the user needs.
