As the California Commission on the Status of Women and Girls moves into 2022 focused on those who have been hard hit by the pandemic, we wrap up the work of 2021 with our first ever Annual Report. The intent of the report is to provide public acknowledgement of a drastic increase in activities over the past year and a fundamental shift in public engagement as we move forward. The report is issued to stakeholders and legislative partners and offers a historical record on the Commission’s work and status of women and girls during these turbulent times. The report not only helps to offer a deeper understanding of what CCSWG does, but also provides the context for why the work is necessary and articulates the unique urgency of the moment for women and families in California struggling under the COVID-19 pandemic. The Commission has worked diligently for over 50 years to eliminate inequities in state laws, practices, and conditions that affect the women and girls of California. We have expanded our work and our partnerships to truly meet this moment of need and to work collaboratively to rebuild a more equitable California in which all people have an equal voice.
