Dr. Tianyi Jiang (TJ) co-founded AvePoint in 2001 after witnessing the 9/11 attacks, which helped him gain a new perspective on the sanctity of life and the importance of following your passions. The experience inspired TJ to pursue his doctorate and start his entrepreneurial journey building new software—and that’s how AvePoint was born.
Since then, the company has grown from a two-person operation out of a public library in Somerset, NJ to a publicly listed (Nasdaq: AVPT), global software powerhouse with employees in 25 offices around the globe, and over 25,000 customers worldwide. Most recently, TJ has led the company to eight consecutive quarters of beating guidance for annual recurring revenue (ARR), total revenue and non-GAAP operating income. In partnership with our investor relations team, TJ has established AvePoint as a strong and growing publicly traded company, increasing the number of analysts covering AvePoint by 40% in one year. Moreover, AVPT’s stock price has increased by almost 90% in the last 12 months, a testament to TJ’s strong leadership and the robust value that AvePoint’s products continue to provide to the market.
Over the last year, AvePoint has empowered leading organizations [REDACTED FOR PUBLICATION], and many others to prepare, optimize and secure their data so they can safely and effectively use AI. This work has earned the company a number of notable awards over the last 12 months, including a 2024 Microsoft Partner of the Year Award, as well as repeated recognition from the AI Awards, the Cloud Awards, Computer Reseller News, and more. In January 2025, AvePoint’s notable growth and success was recognized by Forbes, which named AvePoint to its inaugural “America’s Best Companies” list alongside global tech powerhouses like Nvidia, Alphabet, Google, and more.
In addition to leading the company to new heights in 2024 and 2025, TJ is also a noted thought leader in AI, digital transformation, and enterprise tech; his commentary has been recently featured by CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, Nasdaq, Yahoo! Finance, and more. TJ was also named CEO of the Year by the Stevie Awards in 2023 and 2024, a Top 50 SaaS CEO by the Software Report in 2024, and CEO of the Year at the 2024 Globee Awards.
Outside of AvePoint, TJ recently started the Jiang Fellows Program at Cornell University (his alma mater) because he believes in fostering the next generation of engineering talent and entrepreneurs. His dedication to mentoring students is yet another impact TJ has had on the technology industry.
