    The first of its kind within the healthcare industry, the Anthem Skill for Alexa is a voice-activated virtual assistant that provides our members easy and convenient access to their healthcare information – and is another way in which Anthem is simplifying healthcare by making navigating easier and more accessible. Members can ask a question and receive a quick answer, any time, using any Alexa-enabled device (e.g., Amazon Echo) or the Alexa app on their smartphone or tablet. We’ve made significant strides to help enhance our member experiences, guide members towards personalized health programs, drive member engagement and simplify healthcare costs.  The Anthem Skill for Alexa was designed to make it easy, convenient and secure for our members to get answers to their health questions, including enabling the following activities or capabilities:

    • Create “always-on” self-service to ask a question and receive quick answers, 24/7, and available for any member to use in the way that is most convenient for them (i.e., through any Alexa-enabled device)
    • Order member ID card - "Alexa, ask Anthem to order my ID card."​
    • Schedule a call from Member Services - "Alexa, ask Anthem to schedule a call."​
    • Confirm medical plan details - "Alexa, ask Anthem for my medical deductible."​
    • Find a doctor – "Alexa, ask Anthem to find an orthopedist near me."​
    • Maintain high security standards 

    As a continued commitment to offer members a digital-first health care experience – where, when, and how they want it, we also launched an Alexa skill for Keck Medicine of USC to allow users to find a Keck Medicine doctor or facility, ask health care questions and additional actions designed to make health care simpler.
