My Math Academy is a groundbreaking, standards-based learning program that has been proven to help students in pre-K through second grade achieve mastery and teachers accelerate learning. The program uses Age of Learning’s Personalized Mastery Learning Ecosystem (PMLE) system, which puts students at the center of supportive learning environments as they achieve mastery through the blending of applied learning science with adaptive personalized learning technology.
My Math Academy uses continuous assessments to measure each child’s knowledge and determine where they are placed within the program based on what they know and are ready to learn next. Evidence of learning is collected as the student plays and determines which activities are recommended and at which level of difficulty in order to achieve learning objectives. Within each activity, performance data is used to provide appropriate support, adjust difficulty, and deliver formative feedback.
My Math Academy features easy-to-use dashboards that provide real-time class and student data along with recommended student groupings and individualized instruction for extended learning. Teachers can view data about each student’s progress on each learning objective, understand how they are doing in reference to grade-level standards, and access recommendations for grouping students at similar levels based on their in-game performance. The dashboard also suggests supplementary activities that can be integrated into classroom instruction for certain students stuck on a specific learning objective, and identifies activities of high value to individual students, small groups, or whole classes.
My Math Academy engages families in a child's learning journey through personalized progress reports, supplemental activities, and tips for relating math to daily life, empowering caregivers to champion a child’s path to learning success. The program additionally recommends offline activities customized to reinforce what each child is currently learning. These activities promote knowledge transfer and real-world application, build math fluency, and support healthy parent-child learning relationships.
Multiple randomized control trials have shown that students using My Math Academy for as little as 45 minutes a week experience significant learning gains and have increased engagement, interest, and confidence in learning math.

Nearly 60% of fourth graders in the U.S. are not proficient in math. An extensive body of evidence shows that math skills at school entry are the strongest predicator of later academic success. That is why we developed My Math Academy. We have extensive research and testing that shows our adaptive, mastery-focused approach is highly effective and has the capability to resolve the systemic problem of low math proficiency.
After years in development, My Math Academy began pilot testing in school districts, including Los Angeles Unified School District, Chapel Hill Academy, Lakeport Unified School District, and EPIC Charter Schools. In Fall 2020, more than 900 pre-K students in Texas-based Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District partnered with Age of Learning to address math learning gaps among pre-K students. With 61% of the district’s children in pre-K classified as “at risk,” Harlingen administers identified My Math Academy as a resource that could address their needs, and it has proven to be extremely effective in helping young learners.
At the end of the 2020-2021 school year, math skills more than doubled for 4-year-old pre-K students and tripled for 3-year-olds in the pilot program. The district also saw the average pre-K student reach mid-kindergarten math levels. The data offered through My Math Academy has enabled teachers to identify which individual students need support on specific skills and what instructional activities can optimally benefit these students. Nearly all of the teachers involved in the pilot reported the program has positively impacted students’ attitudes and behaviors and enhanced their chances of academic success. 98% of teachers surveyed said My Math Academy increased students’ interest, enjoyment, and self-confidence in learning math.
The feedback we have received prove that My Math Academy is effective at reducing learning gaps and accelerating learning. 5,000 students across the country are already using the product in various pilots and research studies. (309 words)
