Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) is the largest plastic pipe manufacturer in the country and one of the largest plastic recycling companies in North America, committed to producing pipes that preserve our most precious resource, water, in a clean and environmentally friendly manner.
ADS envisions a world where recycling is a priority, clean water is available to everyone, and neighborhoods are not only growing, but thriving. This vision is the driving force of the ADS Foundation. The ADS Foundation is committed to partnering with organizations that are leading the way in preserving clean water, promoting recycling, and advancing quality of life for the underserved in our communities.
In 2023, ADS announced a three-year, $500,000 gift from the ADS Foundation to The Nature Conservancy. The donation will aid in water conservation efforts in four states: California, Florida, North Carolina and Texas. These four states are key regions where many ADS employees call home, and ADS is committed to protecting and enhancing the communities in which its employees live and work.
In fast-growing Central Florida, where ADS just announced a historic investment in a new manufacturing facility, the company is supporting freshwater aquifer protection efforts, including projects like the Orlando Metro Treesilience Program and the 4R Nutrient Stewardship program, which encourages nutrient management efforts with farmers to protect watersheds while producing quality crops.
But ADS wanted to make this work personal for its employees, giving those employees the opportunity to help make an impact and be a part of the change. So within each state, ADS is working with The Nature Conservancy to coordinate meaningful volunteer opportunities.
In Lake Wales, on the eastern edge of the city sits Tiger Creek Preserve, a 4,980-acre preserve., with one of the highest concentrations of threatened and endangered plants and animals in the country. Some exist nowhere else on Earth.
Staff from ADS’ Seabring and Winter Haven manufacturing facilities committed a morning of volunteering at Tiger Creek with The Nature Conservancy to help steward the preserve. Volunteers collected trash and debris from the preserve, including plastic bottles, cans, food wrappers, and other items. They also removed invasive plants from the area to help protect the native plants and animals that call Tiger Creek Preserve home.
ADS truly believes in creating and sustaining positive social change through a circular economy. It’s rewarding to build communities and establish ongoing relationships with those who recognize the important role water and recycling have in quality of life.
ADS is grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Nature Conservancy and protect Tiger Creek Preserve. This clean up event was just one small way that ADS will help to ensure that this beautiful and important ecosystem is preserved for future generations.
