Nomination Title: Allie Henderson, Public Relations Specialist

Tell the story about this nominated campaign since January 1 2013 (up to 525 words). Focus on specific accomplishments, and relate these accomplishments to past performance or industry norms. Be sure to mention obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, and outcomes:

Whether it’s fostering relationships with multimillion-dollar corporate partners or promoting sponsored athletes to diverse internal and external audiences, public relations specialist Allie Henderson always makes sure no detail is left unchecked, and has helped USANA achieve results that had not been materialized until now. With more than 600-sponsored athletes swearing by USANA’s science-based nutritional supplements, Allie expertly shares Team USANA’s stories of success with the press and on social media and works relentlessly to provide Associates with entertaining and timely information that they can share with potential customers about the benefits of USANA products.

Social Media

Since taking over all athlete social media sites last January, Team USANA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts have seen significant increases in fans/followers. Because of Allie, the USANA Athletes Facebook page surpassed 10,000 likes in March 2013—the first of USANA’s so-called brand pages to do so—and today has nearly 17,000 fans, while Twitter has seen a 337% increase in followers this year.

Allie is also a regular contributor to the award-winning What’s Up, USANA? blog writing monthly USANA Athletes Updates chronicling the recent success of select Team USANA athletes. Always written in a conversational, personable tone, the posts nevertheless contain pertinent and practical information for readers. The posts have been viewed more than 5,500 times since she started penning the monthly posts last January, with her most recent and successful post ("10 Things to Know for Sochi") gathering 1,484 page views.

Media/Athlete Relations

Throughout the year Allie secured twice the amount of Team USANA related press mentions in 2013 over previous year in Australia, China, France and on North American outlets espnW.com, CNN World Sport and USA Today. Most recently she orchestrated the global renewal announcement of USANA’s extended partnership with the Women’s Tennis Association and set up national media for key winter sport USANA brand ambassadors in preparations for the 2014 Sochi Games. During the Games, she overlooked a Team USANA Olympic campaign that highlighted 190 USANA-sponsored athletes competing in Russia, creating and managing all Olympic related communications.

Allie also played a vital role in creating content for USANA’s annual Influencer magazine, comprised of its in-house scientists, Team USANA athletes and spokespeople all while integrating the PR team’s media efforts. Allie wrote the cover story of award-winning magazine in addition to a five-page spread on WTA brand ambassadors, and oversaw several other articles featured in that issue. USANA Associates have stated that it was their “favorite magazine to date”.

Throughout the past year, Allie helped coordinate and carry-out multiple photo and video shoot’s with U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, WTA and U.S. Speedskating athletes, while also securing local and national media interviews for them on-site, and played an integral role with one of the key segments at USANA’s International Convention, which features several dozen athletes.

Over the past two years, Allie has restructured and managed all company accolade submissions entered on behalf of the company, and has successfully written more than 120 winning entries for credible third-party organizations like Outside magazine’s Best Companies to Work for, averaging a 70% ROI. In 2013 she helped secure 96 reputable accolades.
