The 495 and 95 Express Lanes create a network of more than 40-miles of high occupancy toll (HOT) lanes in Virginia. To educate drivers on how to use the new network, the team needed a consumer-friendly website that could convey complex information about an all-electronic, dynamically tolled highway in simple terms and be a source of education.

ExpressLanes.com communicates to various audiences, educates and motivates drivers to travel on the Lanes, performs key operations functions, like collecting unpaid toll invoice payments and features an “On the Road Now” page, which displays real-time on-road camera feeds and signs displaying current toll rates. Since launching in December 2014, website traffic has grown by more than 15 percent each month and the website has more than 20,000 accounts.
